Hey - you're not a nerd!  When I got a medal for 3rd in my AG at a 5K last year I wore it all day long! And it's still hanging on my bedroom mirror!  Be proud - you deserve it - WAY TO GO!

Nice medal and those things mean something. When I was flat on my back in bed my running medals (all for just getting across the finish line, which is enough for me) helped me make it through the boredom! I love those things.

cool! we got medals at the half-marathon last weekend. haven't had a medal for anything since figure skating as a kid...so it was fun!

good for you girl! I`d be wearing mine all the time. I always keep my number on my leg and arm as long as I can after a race and tell people 'it just wont come off in the shower'.

Medals are so dorky looking, I mean other than for 5 minutes at the race, where would you ever wear it? But....why can't I throw mine away? I'm just as nerdy as the rest of you.

I bet you sleep with the one you are going to get at Lake Placid later this month!

Normally I'm not a packrat, but I have every medal, trophy, and plaque I've ever won. My 4-yr-old thinks they're awesome - he has the collection all over his room. His toys compete for them in the new event he's staging: bike, run, sandbox! Not sure what to call that.

Sweet!  Congrats!  It's cool that they mailed it to you.  Much more fun to get medals in the mail than bills.
