Regular  130   Auckland |  Subject: How many workouts do you wear the same clothing before washing?I'm talking about cycling and running. For runs and cycles, I try to get 2 workouts in the same shorts and shirt if the sessions aren't too long. What about you people? I'm asking because I'm wondering if I should stick with 2x cycling shorts and tops or buy another of each and get 3x each. I wash 1x per week. |

At least 6 pairs of running shorts and a myriad of shirts to choose from (if I am wearing a shirt). I can make it through a week and not rewear anything. |

If I go more than 1 workout in the same shorts I'm just asking for some type of crotch irritation at best and saddle sores at worse. Fresh pair every workout. I would have enough sets to go 1 week without having to double up. |

Every time for all my clothes except for my swim shorts, but they get an easy hand washing after every swim and then machine washed every week. I also shower after every workout, even if that's twice a day. No, I'm not very concerned about water conservation... |

Occasionally I need to wear bike shorts a second time since I only have 2 pair right now, but only if they are totally dry. When I travel, I'll hand-wash my technical shirt and let it dry overnight on the shower-curtain rail. Same with the running shorts. I try to travel light. |

Hum, nothing personal, but you probably smell like the dude that goes by me on bike everynow and then that stinks so bad it makes me want to vomit. The only think I would even consider wearing twice are my jammers...or if I use tri shorts for a swim (after rinsing them out). Anything that is run or biked in needs to be washed. I don't know how anyone who is mildly serious in this sport can get away with doing laundry 1x per week. |

I try to do laundry once a week so it doesn't build up, but I just hand-wash my bike shorts and jersey in between. I have enough running shorts to get me through a week. Honestly it's so hot in summer that my jersey is going to be soaked about five minutes into a ride anyway, so I'm really not that concerned if I'm a little whiffy, and scrubbing my bike shorts with a washcloth and a bit of soap gets 'em pretty much as clean as the machine. |

Wow! I can't imagine. My husband actually dips his HR monitor strap in liquid detergent and washes it every other use. I wash my hat once a week as well - LOVE my Zoot running hat - it washes really well. |

I have enough of everything else to only wash once a week. Just hand it in the garage until laundry time. The jammers get rinsed after every swim and washed once a week. enjoy, Duane |

I do rinse out bike/running wear and dry it before it goes in the laundry (my wife doesn't like the lockerroom scratch-n-sniff). In the winter, some of my gear gets worn a second or sometimes third time if I haven't sweated too badly in it. (Outerwear doesn't get washed nearly as often as the base layer stuff. ) |

Everything, including hats and visors get washed every time (with the exception of swimsuit which goes in the shower with me and gets well rinsed). I cannot imagine wearing them more than once much less for 2 weeks. |
