Master  1686     Royersford, PA |  Subject: Ironman Canada-2011 Who's In?Whoo Hoo. I got into Ironman Canada this afternoon!!!!! Most years the spots don't even last to reach the on-line entries. But at 3:00pm EST, the link went live and I typed as fast I could, didn't get timed out and I'm in. And I saved a cross country international flight just to sign up. Good Luck! Veteran 274 outskirts of town | Subject: RE: Ironman Canada-2011 Who's In? Yep - it's time for me to lose the jellyman name. We happened to be camping in Penticton in 2006 while the race was on. Told my daughter that I would be an Ironman one day. She looked at the little paunch I had back then, and said; "I'm not sure you can be an Ironman Daddy, but you can be a Jellyman". I volunteered as well, and was registered by 8 am Monday. I highly recommend volunteering as the experience was awesome, and you get fast tracked during registration. See you all in 363 days! |

Everyone needs to do this race. There were 4500 volunteers and 3000 competitors. No matter whether you came in at 9hrs or 17 hrs you were met by an army of fans who treated you like a champion. |

I had been thinking about Florida or Arizona for 2011 and really was planning on seeing how I felt after my first HIM at Miami in October before I made an IM decision. But this is the big race for the triathlon team I just joined so there will be a ton of support up there. And there was still a slot to be had around midnight Pacific time on Monday, so what the hell!! 361 days to glory!!! |

Regular 79 | Subject: RE: Ironman Canada-2011 Who's In? My husband and I are both in. This will be his second (unless he finishes Silverman in Nov) and my third iron-distance race. I did CDA last June and Silverman Full the preceding November. This was the race that gave my husband his inspiration (and indirectly mine) from the beginning. He spectated in 2003 and knew he had to do it. |
