I wanted to give a quick heads up to anyone who is swimming tomorrow.  My OWS coach is starting at 6:30 at the swim entrance and all are welcome to join her.  She will be in a kayak.  Things were pretty chaotic today with swimmers going every direction.  It was pretty helpful to have her.  Her name is Jessical Laufenberg and she will wearing SBR Coaching Gear.

I made it through registration in 13 minutes today!

Man if that is a sign for Sunday you are going to have one awesome race!

McLuvin - 2011-09-08 5:10 PM Unbelievable, went for a quick 30 minute spin and just avoided getting hit. Riding down old swill on the bike lane and some old lady mKes a wide left turn right into the bike lane right at me, I couldn't slow down as it was right at me and braced for impact. Luckily she missed me by no more than 2 inches. Didn't even slow down, I don't think she saw me. That would have really sucked.

I have a 55 min bike with intervals tomorrow. Can anyone suggest where I can do this that would be relatively safer than the bike path??

Do I need to drive somewhere as I'm staying downtown.

PS, glad you are OK.

Two options, you could head down the path that runs along the lake past the Sheraton and head towards Lake Farms Park.  There is no shoulder, but the roads are not that heavily travelled especially if you do not go during rush hour.  The other option is to do the loop around Lake Monona.  My preference would be the first course. If you are a member of Maymyride you should find both options.  If not, I can dig it up and PM you.

I 2nd the Lake Farm Park option.  Much less congestion.

Hey, you guys know much about the My Athlete Live tracking devices?  I received mine today at the hotel, turned it on and logged in to "track" myself.  Well, I can see my speed, elevation, etc on the left hand side of the screen, but no map to show me where the heck I am.  Is there supposed to be a map in the center of the screen or will that not show up until Sunday when the race starts?

Fred Doucette - 2011-09-08 3:52 PM Also I am aiming for a short swim tomorrow am at 7. I will have a similar shirt on as my avatar sans the daughter. I think Rob and Bryan are joining me but all are welcome of course.

We'll be down there.  Look for people who look uber cool and we will be right next to them with our two girls.

mndiver - 2011-09-08 3:25 PM About 2 hours away from hitting the road to Madtown. Anyone else staying at the Best Western Inn at the Park near the Capitol?

We are! Very nice so far.  Not too loud and free wifi.  We walked over to the Coopers Tavern for dinner last night (on the other side of the capital) and it was very good.  The beer list was amazing and our oldest kid loved the sliders.

See you at 7 for the swim.  I'll be the one in the wetsuit.  haha.

Fred: You absolutely will not get lost on the run course during the race.  It is a little tough to follow if you're trying to drive it though...part of it is on a path around the lake.

Was your unit outside?  It has to be to get the signal.  There should be a map that shows up once it has captured the signal.

For those heading down to the swim this morning, I'll be wearing a gray hoodie with a big green 7 on it that says Get Kucky 7 k. If that layer comes off it will be a brightly multicolored pair of board shorts.

Quit hitting on me Tammy. Had a really nice swim this morning. Water feels perfect for a full sleeve suit. Just be careful on the entry, saw a few people wipe out on the way in.

I'll pay anyone's entry fee into your next IM for whoever does a cannonball off the Terrace roof into the water Sunday before the start!

Fred Doucette - 2011-09-09 5:26 AM I was looking up the run course on the athletes guide and it is not that easy to match to google's maps. My guess is its pretty well marked and its almost impossible to go off course?

You'll be fine.

There was a table set up in the registration process towards the end by the ASI photo table.
