You starting this thread!

I realized just how awesome and fun and supportive and lively my Challenge team is.

I hit 20K posts and got to reflect again on what a wonderful place BT is and the extraordinary people here.

I found out just how cheaply I could live. It's always refreshing to know you don't NEED X,Y,Z.

The bank generously gave me money so I could do stuff I needed to do. It's negative money, but whatever.

My sister lent me her driver today so I wouldn't have to drive around to Really Important Stuff (and I can't, anyway).

The dog has fully adopted and trained the cats.

I actually was able to make a (bit more distant) outing and see friends and family!

My dear friend Marty is in town and staying nearby.

Somehow, yet again, I have everyone, and everything, I truly need ... and it is all actually what I truly want.

I had a blast doing a Warrior Dash last Sunday

I have 2 fantastic kiddos

I have 3 wonderful dogs

I got a Melon Press from Yanti this week

My sister, and my 10 month old niece are making the 2 hour drive to my house today so my sister can spend 20 minutes reading to my daughters class this afternoon. I'm happy my sister was willing to do this, and I'm happy I get to see my sister and niece today.

My Godmother's PET scan came back:  No spread of the cancer.   Surgery is Tuesday for a tumor they didn't really think they'd ever be able to remove.  AWESOME.

I always like the good news threads.

I have been married for 5 years and still love my wife as much as the day I married her.

A young woman that my wife and I have been mentoring and friends with for 4+ years is doing very well and I'm very proud for all the hard work she has put in to building her life.

My wife comes home from her business trip today.

Although my football team sucks (Gophers), I still love them.

I got to see one of my old firends I hadn't seen in years and he and his family are doing well.

My family is happy and healthy.

Starting swimming.  Ouch, but good.

The four year old, while listening to some of the athletes at the USAT Elite Nationals discuss when they did their first triathlon, looked at me and said, "Daddy, I'm going to do my first triathlon when I'm FIVE!"

My little growing baby (still in his Momma's belly) smiled and frowned yesterday when we had the 3D ultrasound taking pictures.  Technology is amazing, but the creation of life trumps all.

* In spite of the multiple-times-daily interruption of the micro-managers, we're on top of a big hurry-job, and they all seem satisfied that we'll be on time.

* Weather has started to cool off, but still the rain is at bay mostly. Motorcycle riding to work! And even took my daughter to school on Wednesday on the bike. She loved it!

* Maize Maze this weekend!

* Running is coming along great. When I went back to the more minimal shoes, I found that I was doing more heel-striking in the Air Max's than I thought. So... it's getting remedied. And also working on less push-off, more running from the hips. Calves are just about re-adapted (and only 3 weeks in).

1. After two months of being out of commission from illness, the following has happened:

 - 3 workouts and counting this week.
 - My bloodwork does not suggest anything more serious.

2. Through diet and lifestyle, I have discontinued (with MD's blessing) my blood pressure meds. I actually came in 111/67 unmedicated!

3. My HDL levels are still really low. (Genetics from dad.) However, my overall cholesterol and triglycerides have steadily dropped. My MD and I may discuss d/c'ing the cholesterol meds.

4. My former-270lb-offensive-lineman-in-college brother finished sub-4:30 at the Chicago Marathon.

5. I did not get the San Diego job, but I am at peace with remaining at my current job.

6. Extra-long lunch on Tuesday gave me some high-quality family time.

7. My 4-year-old has completed independently reading the Pearson 1st grade book-series.

  • I survived all my midterms and am confident that I did well on all of them (only received 1 of 3 grades thus far.)
  • This weekend will be the first one in a looooooong time when the hubs and I can just hang out, and I don't have to go to school or rehearsal or something. (Though studying will be required.)

We're surprising our 4 and 5 yr. old girls to a trip to Disney on Monday and they have ZERO clue we're going.

- Running has gone so so so well this week, and I've survived the taper.
- Marathon is on Sunday! P and I are ready!
- Managed to talk Delta into re-routing our flight to Dublin (ultimately Glasgow). Originally we were supposed to fly direct to Paris then to Dublin, but it looks like the massive strikes are going to mean no jet fuel for CDG, soooo....we decided to call and see what they can do for us, and I was polite, got great customer service, and got the outcome I was hoping for.
- I've only got four days of work left before I'm done and I get to go on vacation and then come back and start my new job!
