$1.00 here, but a very stubborn front tooth got a few more dollars.  Little brother got a dollar too for helping the tooth out.  Although they were wrestling at the time.  Older brother has another loose tooth and little brother asked if he wanted to wrestle.

Tooth fairy left $1 for first tooth and change for second (son is 14) but the tooth fairy ALWAYS brought a book too She likes smart kids. If they finish the book before next tooth falls out they get double the change (to $1)

Good times.  The Tooth Fairy has been VERY busy at our house with #4 losing 4 teeth in the last 10 days!  Our rate is $1 at first we used special dollars like silver dollars or Susan B Anthony or the new dollar coin but then they asked the tooth fairy for 'real' paper money.  The only exception is if the Tooth Fairy ummm errr forgets or is so super busy getting teeth from other houses, then the next night she leaves $2.

No money. But the Tooth Fairy takes the tooth, and leaves in it's place a small personal "letter" in which she congratulates the child, and states that the letter can be exchanged for one book.

A special deal she has with the parents...

Go to the bank exchange for foreign currency where you can get a note that has some ridiculus figure on it like 10,000,000. That will impress the pants off them but you still maybe only shelling out a small figure. Makes for a cool show and tell. Maybe some of the south american currencies like, Chile, Bolivia, Venezuela.

I would think the tooth fairy should leave a Cervelo P2C w/ Zipp wheels?

We have a $1 tooth fairy here. Except the time the dentist needed to pull one to keep good bite pattern. That tooth was worth $10.

The kids are older now, but the rate was $1.   I can sympathize with KeriKadi as the tooth fairy missed our house a couple of times.  If she forgot it was an easy $5.

I don't have kids, but when I was young, the tooth fairy always left us a two-dollar bill.  I always thought it was pretty special, seeing as how this was the only time I ever saw two-dollar bills at all until I was probably in high school.

Thanks for reminding me.  I   The Tooth Fairy has to leave the $1 for the tooth my son swallowed today.  (This is the 2nd time the TF had to magically retrieve it from his belly.)

Man!  I must have grown up in the wrong neighborhood.  The tooth fairy only brought me 25 cents per tooth (I'm 29 now :P).  I guess inflation is bad even for the tooth fairy.  $1 per tooth  Money mouth  No kids yet, but I'll have to keep that in mind. Tongue out

Our tooth fairy always leaves a dollar or two. Always folded in a different origami figure.

Daughter #1 decided she wanted to keep one tooth and just put the tissue out for the Tooth Fairy.  It doesn't work that way.  No tooth = no money.

Son #2 lost 4 in 1 week including 2 in 1 day.

Growing up, it was a dime

Tooth fairy left a silver dollar for the first tooth and half-dollars for subsequent teeth.  Something unusual rather than a dollar bill or quarters.

An iPod Touch for the first, then a new iPod app for each subsequent.  KIDDING!!

I think we did a dollar for the first and then a quarter for each subsequent.

When I was a kid, I was thrilled to find a bunch of silver (some dimes and some nickels) scattered around the bed when I woke up.
