I recently found out that I am pregnant with triplets! Currently 15w 5d, fraternal, two boys and a girl. Any other triathletes with multiples out there? tripletmom01 you have been awesome- especially during my freak out stage!

Also, wanted to gauge interest to see if any other pregnant triathletes were interested in forming a "support group" in the mentoring section. I've been a mentor for a few seasons and would love to do it again, I'm just thinking their might be interest in comparing notes, symptoms, frustrations with lack of exercise, etc.

Congrats!  My wife and I always joke about triplets, but I don't know how I'd deal.

You rock!

Wow!  Congratulations!  I have 2.5 year old twin boys and can not imagine having triplets.  But then people say that about my twins.  When my boys were born exercise was definitely placed on the back burner for a year but after the first year I was able to get back into my regular schedule.  And now, after surviving the first year, I know that I can do anything!  And that I can do it with no sleep.

Good luck!

Congratulations!

We have twin sons and three daughters. After our twins I always wanted another set of twins.

I didn't start tri'ing until youngest was 5 or 6 so can't be of much help with you there.

Being a parent of multiples put you in the spotlight everywhere you go. You'll be asked so many stupid questions....boy-girl twin parent's get asked if they are identical. Lots of the questions are sort of nosy trying to grasp how you cope and what your life is like.

You are speedy all around in tris, but I find I do best in transitions as my life is frequently chaotic so I can handle that well..so perhaps your T1 and T2 times will improve.

I hope you have a great pregnancy and carry them close to term!

I have a couple friends with twins and 1 with trips.  dear god get some sleep!  congrats x3.

one of my friends with twins, now has 4 kids, is a lawyer in stamford, PM me if you want me to put you in touch with her, she did mothers-of-multiples and i think still stays in touch with some of the folks.  she is also a fitness instructor (in her spare time) and she and her husband  are among the best people I know.

Congrats.  I have 4 year old twins and a 2.5 year old. It's a lot of work but worth it.  There is a woman, Tami (sp??) on the local WI board who has triplets. I think her name is tripletmom. Anyways she's one of the stars of "The Distance," a movie about three WI triathletes training for IMMOO.  Anyways - you might want to check out the movie or page her on the WI board for advice.

A huge congratulations! A tri-ple blessing! I have 4 kids, the middle two being twin girls....I was actually sad when my last one wasn't twins again! I have several friends with triplets. The first few months are tiring, so sleep when they do....really! My twins were my easiest babies...maybe because they had each other they were more content. Best wishes and take it easy, and eat enough for all 4 of you, that was the hardest for me (only managed to gain 9 pounds with my twins and together they weighed almost 13 pounds at birth...no room for food I guess.). Here's where your endurance training may really pay off :-)

Thanks everyone for the well-wishes!
Some of you asked the due date - 6/17, but they will likely arrive in early to mid May (goal is 35 to 36 weeks).

My new job is eating as much as I can - so trying to consume close to 200 grams of protein and almost 4,000 calories a day (protein shakes are my new best friend). I've already put on about 25 lbs (from 130 to 155). Still fitting in size 4 maternity wear - it's pretty much all belly and my muscles have atrophied a bit -I can actually fit boots over my calves! My goal is 55-60 lbs total weight gain.

I also have newfound respect for Kate Gosselin - carrying high-order multiples is harder than any triathlon I've ever done!

Congratulations and best wishes three times over!

We've got twins (turning 18 in February).  My wife has done and continues to do all the hard work.
