Subject: Hangin' with the RoadiesSo tomorrow (Saturday) I'm doing a USCF race! A 4K prologue TT in the morning, followed by a crit in the afternoon. The TT should be simple...short and really fast. A couple of short, steep hills on the course, and four corners.I'm no sprinter, so I don't really have the legs fo something as short and intense as this, but it should be fun none the less. The crit is another story. Thirty minutes plus 3 laps of a 1K course, four turns and a chicane thrown in for fun. I'm facing Cat. V, which means attacks from the get go. My plan is to hang in and not go nuts, while (hopefully) all of the other knuckleheads blow themselves out reacting to the attacks. And then the second that the pace slows...go! My goals are: MOP for the TT, averaging >25mph. Don't get dropped in the crit, don't crash out, don'tembarrass my tri-geek self. Race reports tomorrow! |
