I am also in, and I also plan on PRing.  And I did the race last year.  Although PRing should be "easy" given that I ran a 40-minute 5k last year.

Gawd, I hope it is not 4,000 degrees again this year...

It did get super hot last year towards the end of the morning. I think I was the last wave to go off and the sun decided to come out then.

I'll be there, trying to forget the furnace that was the run last year, great event though.

By the way, in case anyone didn't notice, they've had the swim waves posted for awhile now on the website. Very happy to be going off first, it got really hot really fast last year.

I'm not racing, but I'm mentoring two women who are doing Celebration as their first triathlon. Wishing good races to Sheila and Eleanor, and to all of you. See you at the finish.

Wow - yes, the forecast is getting better and better. NOAA is currently offering 63 degrees F temp, and dewpoint lower than 60 for the start time on Sunday morning. And minimal wind too. Looking forward to it.

Quick question: This will be my first tri and I am looking forward to Sunday. I did not bother training or worrying about a wet suit as I expected the water temp to be too high. With a 60 temp at start time would it be low enough and should I even bother considering a suit?

I didn't see anything posted at packet pickup today (but I was also herding two children), but as of Wednesday the water temp was over 85 degrees, so I would HEAVILY assume it will be a no-wetsuit swim. I believe the rule for water temp/wetsuits is: 78 degrees and below, wetsuit legal; 78-83, may use but ineligibile for awards; 83 and up not permitted. However, as has been done by CTA for athlete safety in the past, for temps over 78 the race director can order no wetsuits.

Talked to the race director today, 100% not wetsuit legal, water temp today was (if I remember correctly) 85 degrees.  Good luck to you all and I'll see you there! I'll be in my University of Maryland Jacket/Trisuit so if you see me say hello, my name is Dave.
