Hey guys! I just ran across this product and love it so thought I would pass it along. It's durable, looks cool, and is really easy to set up. I don't know if most of the tris are like the ones in Utah and the surrounding area where it is really gritty and sandy, but it's at least worth checking it out!

I saw this in the most recent addition of Triathlete magazine (the one with all the product reviews) No, I don't own the business or any part thereof, but just thought it was a neat product.

Happy training!
Victoria

*****Edited because I used the word "cool" about 50 times!!***************

That looks good.

I keep a squirt bottle at my T area for that reason and it works pretty fast too.

That is pretty cool.  I do the same as comet.  I've seen other things similar to that and a lot of times it gets knocked over or other people use yours and its dirty by the time you get to it.

I've been lucky, I guess, the few tris I've done with a beach/sand provided a series of wading pools on the path to transition, allowed you to get to your bike with relatively clean feet.

If I ever get a chihuahua, I'll have to invest in the little doggie pool.

Save your money. You put one of those in transition and I guarantee you several people who comes out of the water before you will use it. I have seen it in every race I've done. There will be no water left for you. If you can hide it under a towel and you can isolate yourself in the transition area then give it a try otherwise use a water bottle to clean your feet off.

Looks really cool! I always HATE the way my feet get everything stuck to them running from the water to the bike.

I typically just use a hand towel to wipe my feet clean and to dry my legs off some.

I can also see where other people would clean their feet off in your little pool. So, as great as it looks... I think I will stick to my hand towel. Less hassle.

I use something similar to that. A bucket! It works well and I have a place to sit afterwards.

I was thinking 5 gal bucket with a lid laid on top (not locked - too long to open) would be a good way to keep others from using it.  And when it's empty you could use it to carry all your junk.

Or spend $5 or so and get something like this (probably cheaper at your local Mart):

Of course, you've got to take water with you as well. I like the squirt bottle suggestion.

I've seen people use the aluminum turkey trays in transition too (really a good idea!!).

For my first tri I was completely unprepared for that...so I drank my Powerade Option quickly and filled it with water and used it.

After that I went out and bought a wee box from Target for 2 dollars. I put all my random tri stuff in there while i'm setting up, and then fill it with water before the race starts. Post-race I dry it and put all the random stuff back in.

If the race has wading pools set up though, don't take up space in transition with your own box.

I don't think my size 14 feet would fit in it.

More seriously though, I hear you on the sand, Victoria. I've had a couple of sandy beaches that really made a mess of me and made it very uncomfortable to ride/run afterwards. I'm liking the idea of having something to at least dip the feet in and perhaps dump over my body. Thanks for the post.

You know, I would never consider cleaning my feet in someone else's pool.

When I did my tri, I never even noticed the sand until after. I got stuck in my wetsuit which really pissed me off and "panicked" me so by the time I got me feet in my shoes the adrenaline was surging too high for me to even notice. Next time I'll use a squirt bottle.

I use water from my bottle or just brush it off with a handtowel. I wouldn't have to remember to bring or find enough water to fill a tub up.
