Anyone have any triathlon related new years resolutions for 2012?

Mine is to start using the workout logging feature here on BT.  I figure the logging will hold me more accountable to my workouts and less likely to skip.  Plus as a data geek I will definitely enjoy seeing all the stats and (hopefully) progress.

Logging has helped keep me accountable. And set training goals.

My goal for the year is more running volume, which hopefully should make me a faster runner.

My resolution is to get back into competitive race shape after two years of slack training and little racing!

Swim lessons and work on fixing my form. Assuming that goes well this winter/spring, a HIM. If it goes poorly, lots of duathlons.

Complete my first IM in November and lower my PR for the other races I'm competing in this year. I agree with all the other posters who will use the logging feature. I've always been one to just do the training, never looked back and evaluated how my progress has been going, just trained by feel. With the IM on the horizon, I need to focus more and make sure I don't slack, hence joining BT and reading all of these posts.

I want to make the HIM championships in Vegas. But this was a stretch for me to begin with and things at work have not cooperated. I've already missed a weight goal on my plan. So it's not looking good even before the new year starts.

For my tri related resolution I'm not looking for specific times or distances or anything like that.

This year my goal is to start getting up early and training in the wee hours before everyone else is awake.  There's supposedly a decent group of swimmers that swim around 5:00am at two locations in town, and I want to start swimming with them at least once/week.  Maybe get up early enough to run once/week as well.  Especially in the summer.

Resolution wise, I plan on improving mine and my family's eating habits.  Goal wise, as a beginner I plan to make my first year in triathlon one with at least four sprint races and at least one olympic one.  I expect MOP finishes for my AG....we will see.

Happy 2012 to all the BT's

Improve all three sports, especially swimming.

Get back to race weight by the end of February. 172 now need to be <160.

Sub 5 HIM in July.

No, but it'll be a hell of a trip trying. I say go for it!

I have ONE.

That is to not push myself over the edge with training.

Using the logs is a great idea, thats also something I've never done on this site!

I just want to tri again, thats the only goal lol. Its pretty general, but I've completely fallen off the excercise wagon since IMCDA (only 2 swims since IM!!).  I moved and went back to school in a new (tiny) town, and I have every excuse in the world not to train.

So I've got 2 Oly's, a sprint, and at least 1 mary in mind, I just hope that I can bring myself to get back to work.  I guess I just got too burned out, gotta get over it!

To do my training early AM. With a family and work, it is the only way for me to ensure it gets done!

1. Drink less [I am a craft beer fiend].

2. Complete my first OLY distance triathlons [have only done sprints until now, but have only been doing this since the summer].

morey000 - 2011-12-30 8:56 AM Is BQing a marathon, tri-related?

Triathlon includes a run... marathon IS a run... I say absolutely!

My goal for 2012 is to NOT do an Ironman.
I did ones in both 2010 and 2011 and while I looooooved the training and the race itself, I need a break from that distance. Focusing on running in 2012 - a 50K in February, marathon in April, throw in a few HIMs this summer, and top it off with the Chicago Marathon in October with my sister and brother in law. So excited! Just keep me off ironman.com

My goals are to drop 20 lbs and improve my 10K time by 10-15%.  Pretty happy with my swim and bike, just don't want to gain in the run at the expense of the others...  Just sayin'
