Subject: Friday Confessions

I confess I ate the following, and all of the following, for dinner:

lassi (yogurt drink), 1/2 Greek salad, avocado and shrimp salad, french fries, bruschetta, 2 bowls of peanuts, watermelon juice, vegetarian curry with rice, John Dory fillet with shrimp sauce (whole shrimps)/bed of spinach/boiled potatoes, lemon squash (fizzy lemonade), and a banana split for dessert.

I have also (gulp) fallen in love with the Irish boyband Westlife, which is breaking up after this year's touring.

I am so ashamed. (About the band. Not the food.) In their defense ... they have sold 44 million records so far. That's a lot. In my defense, I hadn't ever heard of them until last week.

This is them.

And this is the song I absolutely cannot get out of my head ... be warned ... it is terrible. And impossible to get rid of.

I spent the better part of yesterday afternoon, while "listening to a webinar" in my office with the door closed, playing Jigidi.

I will confess that I knowingly ate meat today which as a Catholic during Lent is a no no. But it was only 1 bite, well maybe 3 bites and there was a good reason - I was making lasagna for tomorrow and just did not feel good about putting it in the oven without tasting it to check the seasoning.

By the way - the lasagna weighs 10.5 pounds and it tasted good.........

Yanti, your appetite never ceases to amaze me. And those boys are yummy!

Bought a 5 lb bag of cinnamon bears. The packaging says a serving is 4 bears. Seriously?! Who can eat only 4? I had ~20.

Am currently bribing the dog to not bark by giving her treats. Now she gives 1 big bark when she sees someone walking by/a squirrel/a cat or hears a car horn, then comes running to me and starts drooling. Would really prefer other methods (ex: distracting w/a toy) but they weren't working and she was driving me nuts.

So. Welshy. Make it happy, then

On second thought, perhaps not. Such subversive delight when you show up, and I'd rather that keeps happening ...

I can't make it happy, I'm too sad from all the sadness in this thread. Can you imagine? 1 piece of pizza is cheating? My first thought was "Hi, my name is Welshy and I cheated eating a pizza....

What's really sad is that I have nothing pizza-related to confess, in any sense.

If you are gonna be down in the dumps, you might as well revel in Garbage.

It's cathartic, really.  It helps the mood pass.

Admittedly, I'm not trying at all rightabouts now. I'm bunkered down/incognito/semi-quarantined. Three days 'til I fly off the island.

A piece, as in one? I ate a whole pizza last night. To be fair it was an Amy's organic gluten free vegetarian pizza, but still over 900 calories. I admit to being totally lazy the past few weeks (and traveling the last 3 weekends in a row, but not a good enough excuse), which lead to a messy kitchen, which led to needing a dinner that didn't require dishes.

I'll make my confession a Sunday confession.

I had 6 days in a row with bike rides over 40 minutes. Wanted to go 8 in a row before I took tuesday off. But I just couldn't muster the motivation to ride to work today. So, I drove. I'm riding tomorrow so that will make 7 out of 8 days which isn't bad.

Enjoyed a fine cigar with my son-in-law's father (I have no idea what that makes him to me).

Good beer, good cigar, good time passing baby grandson back and forth......oh.....wait......I'm NOT sorry. Laughing

I spent about 3-4 hours at a wings places on Friday night with the wife.  After eating my weight in wings and beer, we went to the movies where I ate my size in popcorn.  I'm amazed I could still get on the bike the next morning!
