Subject: RE: Your finish time one your first tri?1:27 for a sprint but it was kind of random distances. Supposedly a 350m swim, 24 km bike (but that was the longest 24 km of my life ), of which about 5 km was offroad, mostly over sand dunes, and a 5 km run on the beach. The people who put it on are known for random distances. I was 2nd woman and something like 11th or 12th overall (out of maybe 60 people ). I guess I did better than I had a right to as a beginner, because conditions were pretty tough, everyone had to ride mountain bikes, and the bike leg was mostly uphill (long looping climb on the road and short, off-road descent ) which kept the speed demons and aero nuts under control a bit.
