Subject: Wearing two outfits to a wedding ... ?Ok y'all - I'm heading to a wedding in a few weeks, and I've just heard that quite a few of my friends will be wearing not one but two outfits - as guests - one to the ceremony and one to the reception. The ceremony is at 4 pm and the reception doors open at 5:30, and the church is only a few blocks from the hotel where the reception will be and where most guests are staying. It is a large wedding, formal but not black-tie. So ... is this extravagance? I've never heard of this before - two outfits to a wedding. I could see if the ceremony were in the morning, or if the ceremony were formal and the reception not or vice versa, although neither is the case here ... I'm thinking, knowing this particular group of friends, that it's just a group of women who don't get out much and are just looking for excuses to buy/wear two outfits. Am I an unfashionable old fuddy duddy, at the tender age of 37, wearing only one dress?! Also - am I bit oversensitive thinking it's slightly disrespectful to the bride - it's her wedding, not their fashion show? |
