Anybody else hear if they got in the Boston Marathon?

Will be interesting if the spots are still left as Chicago, Victoria and several other fall races are in the next 2 weeks.

I am in!  I was nervously awaiting the email because I made the cut off time by 7 seconds.  That was my goal for last year to make the cut and now I have to look forward to long winter runs in the snow and cold................AWESOME!!!

I'll take it over the alternative though.

Honestly, even though I'm not doing Boston this year, this makes me feel so much better. This year, before I got injured, my BQ time that I was shooting for was 3:35, but I thought I'd have to get closer to 3:33 to get in, based on the race selling out. (Of course if I try for 2014, my BQ time is upped to a 3:40, which I've already done, so that's not as exciting...but I'll probably still try for a sub 3:35 out of totally unnecessary pride). 

Anyway. Looks like the lower qualifying times fixed that "selling out in a half hour" problem they had and there are still enough spots left open that if you just hit your time, you're in.

Congrats to all the qualifiers! Happy training and I hope it's a spectacular race day!

But that's exactly what folks were predicting for this weekend. And I'm sure great weather for Chicago didn't hurt. Congrats to everybody who got in for 2013.

What's everyone doing for hotels? I have not yet booked.

I'd obviously be up for some beverages after the race, and ideally want to minimize walking

Hey what do you know, they accepted my entry even though I did it a couple days later. Just got my accepted confirmation email. Did you try the form Colin?

Yeah, that's the one small flaw in my strategy so far. 2 weeks to go to MCM, so I think it'll be 2014 for me.

My confirmation took a few days, but it came through.

I am going to be taking November to develop strength, then starting back up with training in December.

Paying an obscene amount to stay at the Doubletree nearby.  Like- I could get a very nice new set of wheels for the cost of this hotel.

I should update the above.  I found what looks to be a really nice room to rent on AirBnB for cheap, so I ditched the Doubletree.  Just looking at the map of boston and where the finish line and family meetup area is- and I can't believe how close my place is gonna' be.  I'm like 400ft away.  So, you guys won't need to carry me very far.     So friggen jazzed for my 1st boston, and that my achilles are looking like they're gonna' make it. 

Can't be worse than what I'm paying for a week in Lake Placid. And I'll try AirBnB. Need to save money for post-race beer
