I think that's a bit ridiculous. i agree that it's ridiculous. my sister works for verizon wireless and i get an amazing discount since i'm on her plan. t-mobile seems to have the best rate plans around if you need an actual plan, or if you don't travel one of the regional providers might work. if you only use 1000 texts, that's not really that much, pre-paid may still work for you. |

I used to be on a family plan at Verizon - I, too, had a 20%+ discount through work and it got to be ridiculously expensive. |

Regular 525 | Subject: RE: Basic Cell Phone Plan Virgin is no contract. I live about 30 miles south of Cleveland and have had no coverage issues. There is absolutely no roaming, so if there is no Sprint service where you are you are out of luck. I have not found that to be an issue though. I would recommend to anyone who has good Sprint coverage in their area. They are usually about 9 - 12 months behind on the latest phones, but they have a decent selection. They now have both the iPhone and some very high end Androids. Like I said before, you are paying full price for the phone though. |

Veteran 416 | Subject: RE: Basic Cell Phone Plan We have T-mobile (2 years now), 750 minutes + unlimited texts. We have 4 lines for $93 w/taxes & fees. Line #3 & #4 are only $5 each (in-laws use them) so it'd be closer to 80 with two lines, so not much cheaper. We looked at switching to pre-paid, but when we considered the mobile-to-moblie, night or weekend minutes that wouldn't be included with the pre-paid plans we looked at we realized that we might be getting off cheap as it is. |

I have had occasional issues with coverage in California, specifically Thosand Oaks and extremely coastal Bay area. But, overall, I like it. Their customer service is very good. |

Now that's what I'm talking about! I've been considering the move to Virgin for awhile but I wanted to check and see if there were any other good options. |

I think the only controversy is that the costs have gone up a lot due to it shifting over to cellphones versus home phones. I think that obamaphone site is just clever marketing by somebody to promote the program. |

On more than one occasion, he's had to use his personal phone for work because it actually had service. We live in a big city. There are AT&T coverage problems all over town and we don't want to talk about the problems with budget carriers. The budget plans are good, but he coverage is not half as good as Verizon.
