Fiscal conservative, and social libertarian.

Keep your hand out of my pocket and your nose out of my business?

That's mine, and MANY people's position, me thinks.

If the Rep's could ease up on the social issues, or the Dem's ease up on the programs/fisical issues, either one would make some serious headway.

GRAND simplification of the situation, I know - and I'm not prepared to offer HOW that can be done.  But I can dream, no?

I'm pretty sure I cast my last vote for a Republican Presidential candidate.

I just don't know how, as long as the Republican Party continues to put reversing RvW as a top priority they won't continue to decline.

You have to give the D's credit though, they package the legal confiscation of personal assets for Federal charities, political payback and other unethical uses pretty well.

It used to exist...before the GOP was hijacked...allowed itself to be hijacked by the Religious Right.  If I'm not mistaken, it began with Reagan and his relationship with Falwell's "Moral Majority."  It was accelerated with George W. Bush.

You would have loved the old-time GOP.  It was fiscally conservative and socially libertarian.

Libertarian.  Ron Paul is the epitome of fiscal conservatism... too bad he didn't get the primary win.

Me too. Having to choose sucks, because there's really or reason why we should have to. One has nothing to do with the other.
