It's my birthday today. Cant decide if I want to go for my planned 1 hour swim or just make it a rest day and be lazy with an excuse. Decisions Decisions....

Happy birthday!

Today is a rest day, so probably an hour ride or a short run or a chill swim.  Wink  Whatever it is, it'll just be for fun.

Happy birthday!

Long ride today for me. 65 to 70 miles + 4mi brick. I slept in, but the wind is predicted to get up to 35-40mph gusts in the afternoon... so the suffering shall suck indeed. It'll get me ready for new Orleans wind :p

Happy birthday!

I'm waiting for this afternoon to do a 12 mile run...we are supposed to reach a sunny 45 degrees with no wind--that is worth waiting for!

Have an excellent day!

happy birthday. Spend the hour doing your workout as you have 23 other hours to do something else in the day .

I have a 3:30 trainer ride followed by a 50 minute brick. Not sure when I'm going to get that in today as some jerks decided it would be a good idea to break into my car at work yesterday so I need to deal with that before I can do my workouts. Fortunately they got a 5 year old pair of sunglasses and I think maybe a 1.25 in quarters.

Happy Birthday!

Pretty short distances today for me.  4 miles on the treadmill and then 2400 yds in the pool.  Had to mess with crowded lanes, but I guess it prepares you for the open water starts!

Safe training to all!

Happy Birthday!!

I just downloaded the started pack from Sufferfest, after having only completed Local Hero before. My morning/afternoon will consist of Angels, Downward Spiral, Long Scream (Iffff I can handle all 3). I know I should hit the pool too, but something keeps me from starting and keeping a swimming routine...super frustrating. If only I had a pool in the house, I would swim EVERY day!

Cheers all,

Chris

Thanks for all the birthday wishes BT!!! To celebrate turning 29 I decided to join a Masters Swim Team and go to my first practice. WoW what a workout! I did 2700meters in about an hour (with the breaks) which is really good for me. Workout kicked my butt and no doubt that If I continue to swim with the team 3x a week, I will definately see improvements. Now after that hard workout it is time to ruin all the exercise I did today by spoiling myself with chocolate cake and beer

20-mile run in the books. 49 days until Boston, 148 until IMLP, but who's counting

Kick-off party for the tri club tonight at a local pub. We will be trying on the club kits for sizing. Should be pretty entertaining.

Not gray at all here! AM 10ish mile run with farther pickups. Already in mid 90's by end. yikes! PM escaped oven-like temperatures (over 100, I think, though it was dry heat) with 3800m in the pool in honor of Yanti's IM attempt. Note to self--if I ever do an IM swim I should probably not do it as sprint repeats! Even the pool is getting too hot!
