Comments: Went out and felt great.....at around 6:30 pace. When I pushed it much faster than that it felt hard so I would back off to 6:30. Kept it pretty much right there for the entire race. It was warmer than I thought it would be. Poured most of every cup of water over my head and shirt. Noticed that on the flats and descents I just kept up but that on the ascents was where I passed people. The last hill to the finish line in ths race is about 3/4 of a mile long and is just brutal. The last time I ran this (1:32:xx) I actually stopped completely about 1/4 mile from the finish and thought I aw going to puke. I felt like I might puke today also but this time ther was no stopping. :). I gritted this one through to the end. What would you do differently?: Maybe pick 6:25 or 6:20 as my pace. Sometimes I wonder if the brain is more powerful than the body in these instances. If I had decided that 6:20 was today's pace, could I have held that? Post race
Warm down: Walked around and chatted with several friends who had run various races today. Event comments: Great race that is a staple in SE Michigan. Last updated: 2013-05-07 12:00 AM

The usual. I got to the race start really early so I had time to grab a short cat-nap. My gut was more settled than it usually is before a race. I ran about 1.5 miles total with 4 x strides up to race pace. I was sweating by the time I lined up to start.
See above.
