Run
Comments: We really didn't run. My team mates and I have the slogan of "No Weeple left behind"---we take it seriously. (Yes, we are called the Weeple Army--one of the most supportive groups I have dealt with outside of triathlon). We had one team member who is getting back to exercise after having some severe foot issues (bone spurs and such)--so we mostly walked with some light jogging of the course. We also stayed at some obstacles a bit longer to help other racers clear them (its kind of what we do....no better feeling than being able to help someone conquer an obstacle!) What would you do differently?: Nothing--I had a blast! Post race
Warm down: showered.....for quite some time...I was very muddy. I then sat on the grass checking out racers and their costumes...some were very odd....like the 59 year old man who did the whole race in a full suit and tie....he did Tough Mudder in Tahoe last week...Mad props to him. What limited your ability to perform faster: Holding back for teammates. I'm cool with that. Event comments: Rugged Maniac is a very well organized race group--they are national, and I believe this the first time they were near Sacramento. I was a little bummed that they didn't have the fire jump obstacle at the end, but with the dry conditions, it was probably a wise choice to omit it. Besides, I just wanted to do it for an awesome photo op---these guys do FREE professional race photos! I think there may be some cool ones coming from it. The funny part for me was hearing comments from obvious first timers--mainly young women--who were disgusted by not only the mud, but the fact that there "was probably MORE than just MUD in these ditches!" ---Uh yeah, hello...equestrian center??? What do you think? I laughed a lot at those. I would totally endorse this as a good introduction to Obstacle Course Racing/Mud Running. Last updated: 2013-07-14 12:00 AM

Stood around waiting for my team members/friends...seriously, just stood there and waited, then when some arrived, we all stood, waited, chatted, joked around...you get the idea.
NONE, this was NOT a serious race...it was all in fun...that being said, we had to hop a 4 foot wall to get into the starting chute, where I then did some light stretching...that counts, right?
