What do you drive? (Page 5)

I have had my NSX for 4 years now. It was originally from Reston, Virginia. I flew down and drove it 1800+ miles home in 2 days.

My NSX just rolled 111111.1 miles this summer and it is still going strong. If you want more indepth information about the NSX check out www.nsxprime.com That is the site where most of the NSX people hang out. There is a ton of information on there about all aspects of NSX ownership. But in general they are a Honda, so they are very reliable. The most important thing to look for is full service records, especially the timing belt/water pump service interval. Most NSXs don't get driven all that much so the time interval usually passes before the milage interval. It is a fairly expensive procedure, but only due every 7 years or so. There are a few know issues like slow power windows, wonky stereo head units and climate control issues. But, overall it is a very good and reliable car. I change the oil every spring and drive the hell out of it every summer. When VTec kicks in it is a blast. They only have 270HP, which was later upped to 290HP. So they don't have the uber HP like new cars. But, they are a light car (all aluminum body/frame/suspension) and have amazing handling and they are very much at home on the twisty roads. If straight ahead speed is your goal then look else where. If you can find one that has a turbo, or the supercharger then they get pretty close to modern day performance standards. The 400 HP range is the sweet spot.

It may be a 20+ year old design, but it still turns heads and gets mistaken for a new car pretty much every time I drive it. If want attention, this is the car to get because I literally cannot drive it anywhere without someone taking a picture or stopping to talk about it.

Good point. A car like that should be driven. I have a new Camaro and I absolutely it. I tried to put up a pic, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to post.

The Volvo is huge compared to the other 2.  I wouldn't be surprised if it weighed more than the other 2 cars combined too :D

I'm thinking of getting a Fiesta ST sometime soon, it would be the only vehicle I own that powers the front wheels!

I'm thinking of picking up an XC60 or XC90 from Sweden next year. How did you like the XC90...and when are you going to be selling the Cayenne?

I have a 2003 Mini Cooper S for most of my driving. Fun car but lots of expensive maintenance. I can get a bike in with the rear seats down if I take off both wheels. The front seat gives a surprising amount of head room. Most people 6'2" -6'4" have no problem getting comfortable in the front seats.

I also have a Ford F150 4WD, 8' bed, regular cab. This is the hauler of all kinds of things. I bought it when I was building a lake house with a steep gravel driveway. I also needed it for trailering the boat. It moves my stuff and all my friend's stuff everywhere it needs to go. It goes without saying you can fit a big guy in a truck. No truck is particularly comfortable. This one is like most trucks.

My wife has a 2013 Volvo XC70. This is also a great hauler of stuff. When you have 5 houses, you live in your car. This is the car she lives in.

Of the vehicles I have, I would recommend the XC70 to a decently big guy with triathlon habit and a need for hauling stuff. It gets great highway mileage, has excellent acceleration, and if it is like our previous two Volvos, it has excellent reliability, with the seats down it can haul nearly as much as the pickup. This is not a cool car but it does a lot of stuff well. A person 6'4" would have no problem getting comfortable in the driver's seat. There is a lot of range of adjustment.

Range Rover Evoque. Picked it up earlier this year and love it. Went with the dynamic version that's a bit sportier (white with black roof).

It's just the wife and me and some dogs and its perfect for us for all of our needs. Fits the bike with all wheels on...seats folded of course, fits a dog kennel, all our gear for the beach or the farm, drives like a car, goes just about anywhere you could possibly need to go on-road and off-road, has all the creature comforts you would expect from a range rover, and my favorite.....its one of the most unique looking cars on road. It boarders ugly and beautiful at the same time. Don't see too many of them on the road and I dig that. I've never had so many people randomly approach me with compliments. I wish they would offer the diesel version in the US though.

Our other vehicle is a chev 2500hd diesel to pull a horse trailer and other general black smoke billowing work truck type stuff. That thing is a beast.
