Count me in.  I started 2012 at 261 pounds, and finished the year at 210 pounds.  I have 6 months to go until Ironman Coeur d'Alene, and I still need to lose another 30 pounds to get to race weight.

My January goal weight is 195.

I'm back in, the end of 2013 was a complete failure. I finished my first HIM at 228 in September and then went on a binge, starting the year out at 240!
Fighting PF so I have not been running I guess it's time to go see the Doc and see what I can do, planning on another HIM in June.

1-1-2014 240

January goal is 232

Overall goal is 210 by June 2014

Good luck everyone, Let's make 2014 a great year!

Hi all,
Returning to the thread. Did a sprint a few years back and another one this summer. Training was lack luster and it showed. This is my year - I feel committed to making myself proud when I cross the finish lines next summer.

Down from an all time high of 198. Last two years I've been as low as 154 back to my current weight of 162. I'm 54 and short so I really have to work to go forward.

Goal for Feb. 1 - 155

Have my training plans ready to go starting March 1 for a sprint and then start one for an oly in Aug. Nothing tri specific now, getting to the gym, lifting, spin classes some jogging intervals on the treadmill. Want to lose weight and be in shape so that when I start my training plan and it says to run 20 mins. I'll be able to run (not jog) 20 mins.

Jan. 3 - 162.5

anyhow weight on monday 30th december was 172 (eek!) and i am aiming for 159 overall (bmi under the supposedly magic 25 and more importantly so i can fit in my clothes better!)

goal for end of january is 169 (conservative but i get very down on myself and want to aim for something easy to boost my confidence.

I want in.... A few years back I found this website and forum and got in on a weight loss challenge. I believe it was 20 pounds in 20 weeks or something like that. Anyway I went from a lifetime high of 255 pounds down to a much more fit 205 pounds over about 18 months. In that time I also completed 2 Half Ironman events. Well, that was (wow I just looked back) the end of 2009. 2010 was a transitional year and I started with some pretty big goals, hired a local coach and she shot down my goal of 4 HIMs as unrealistic. In hindsight, I should have picked a different coach right away or explained to her that my goal was to complete them, improving my times from one to the next, nothing more. After all, I had completed 2 in one year (My first to tri's to boot) without any coaching at all, purely self motivation, so doubling that with a professional coach should have been easy.

Well, my training intensity tapered off as I couldn't wrap my head around a new set of solid goals and by the end of 2010 I had put on about 10 pounds and was training only 2-3 times per week.

Since then, I've gradually tipped the scale back up and even though my body composition is a little better from occasional workouts, I'm back to tipping the scale near the 250 mark.

So, starting Monday, January 6th 2014 it's back on. By the end of January my goal is to be down to 240. The first 10 pounds seems to always be the easiest. If I can lose 10 the first month, 8 the second, 6 the third and 4 the fourth, I'll hit May 1st around 220 pounds and be ready to get serious for the summer.....

So, if you've read all of this, feel free to give pointers and advice and make me stick to it.....

Thanks

I'd like to be part of this group. I'm not planning a triathlon for this year, but I'd like to run a half marathon this summer and maybe an early and late 10K. I'm trying to lose baby weight (again). It's gotten harder each time. My running goal for January is to run 3x per week (weather permitting) and to get up to 3.5 miles.

Starting weight: 200 lbs
Goal for end of Jan: 195 lbs

Goal weight: 155 lbs

This weekend I ran the New Years Los Angeles 2014 race. This is my second time running this race, but this year was a lot harder. The hills were alive in the race. I finished in 2:49. Not thrilled but I am ok with that time. It was an improvement compared to last year. (Last year I ran it in 3:18.)

If you get a chance to run this one it was a really well produced race. I had a great time.

Fat Boy is in. Got myself from 292 down to 209 at the end of the summer. Crept back up to 231 as of Jan 2. 222.5, this morning. Shooting for 190 by June 1 as a "realistic" goal. Would like to see 180 or less.

I'm back in - I've had a rough two months. After an unexpected death, two people leaving at work, and the holidays I've managed to pack on a few lbs. I'm up to 190 something I believe from my all time low of 184.

I have been getting work outs in, I've just been eating like crap.

Goal for this month is to get back on track. I am doing my first marathon on May 18th and would love to be 175lbs for it.

I could really use a kick in the butt =).

With the coming of the New Year, athletes commonly think about making nutrition resolutions. Good thing, given only 3 to 4% of Americans follow all of the established Dietary Guidelines.
