If this guy gets buried in anything other than a coffin that is scrapped together from coconuts and bamboo.... I'm going to be extremely miffed.

Maryanne and Ginger are the only 2 surviving cast members. The age old argument just got real....

From the linked article:

"He joined the Army Air Corps during World War II and served as a B-24 bombardier on missions over the Pacific war zone, breaking his ankles in 1945 when his plane was shot down over the Philippine island of Mindanao. He was discharged as a first lieutenant in November 1945, having earned a Purple Heart and other medals."

How many of today's TV actors/celebrities have stuff like that on their resumes?  We've lost another member of the Greatest Generation.

RIP, Professor.

Mark

T.V. Land had reruns last night and we told the kids how we used to watch it when we were little.  The played the first 2 episodes which were still black and white. They kids thought it was hilarious too.

The theme song from season 1 had different lyrics. They were called "and the rest" and not "the professor and Mary Anne". How demeaning to be called "the rest".

I would add Batman and the Monkeys to the list - of COURSE the Munsters.

That show was great.  There were a bunch that we watched after school.  Batman.  Ultraman, and the Beverly Hillbillies was another.  Some Adams Family, although I never really liked that.  And the cartoons then were the greatest.  I remember seeing a Popeye rerun from WWII entitled "You're a Sap Mr. Jap".   That would go over great today.

Yep.  Starred Peter Graves, pre-Mission Impossible.

Mark....I promise I saw every Fury episode ever made multiple times (it was in sindication by the time I was watching in the mid 60's)......and I did not remember that Peter Graves starred in it.  Thanks!
