If that's what your body will let you ride, no point not having a nice bike. maybe he just hasn't been fit. imagine if he could get a good position Imagine if he could swim and run. Right there with you. What's sad is in my local area I'm considered one of the stronger swimmers. What was a decent swim in the sprint race? Not necessarily FOP, but a swim that kept you in the game. |

You'd have to hoof it......30:00 was a FOP bike split and 17:00 was a FOP run (actually both would put you in the top 1-5%)....so you're at 1 hour without transitions......and they total a minimum of about 2:30. Does 1:02:30 get you there? |

Master 3888 Overland Park, KS | Subject: RE: AG nationals this weekend Here's top 20. I've seen that Denny Kid many times, he goes to the same LBS and he swims with some friends of mine. If he ups his swim game, he'll be tough to beat next year. He was also 10th OA in the OLY. The top 4 swims in that top 20 group are all current top level swim club kids......basically monsters in the waters of a triathlon. They all have sub :50 100's in SCY. Nearly impossible for older AG'ers to get to....but 10:15-11:00 is doable and gives you a shot at AG podium, even if it won't do for overall podium. Edited by Left Brain 2014-08-14 3:05 PM |

I read Denny's blog, he lost it in transitions, also the winner was not in his AG so couldn't react to seeing him at a run turnaround etc. Although how do you run faster than 5:09's, especially after an OLY the day before :P. I'm planning on going next year, can't wait to have my a$$ handed to me again but it's amazing to watch how fast these guys go. Congrats on Jr's performance, will he be there next year? Could be a "show me state" finish 1-2 Edited by reecealan 2014-08-14 3:25 PM |

I don't know.....probably, but it kind of depends on how he develops over the next year. He is actually a very young 17 AG since he has a late December B-day....he's barely 16 1/2. His focus is still on the Jr. Elite DL circuit and High School XC and track. But I can tell you this.....he was looking over the results and saw Denny....he said, "dad, that guy's from Missouri, we need to find a race that he is doing next year so I can race head to head with him, that would be awesome." LOL |
