Subject: 2.12.15 Thursday Training

Good morning BT!

Back to business today--went to bed early and even slept in a bit this morning!

5:00am:  :50 minute run--incline repeats, inreasing speed and incline %.  Plan on some strength stuff after school since I didn't fit it in this morning.

Good morning!

Did my "long" run today. 45 mins easy / 30 mins marathon pace / 20 mins threshold pace / 5 mins easy cooldown. And I actually broke my half marathon PR by over 4 minutes in this workout...crazy Then again, my pr was relatively soft considering the running shape I am in, but still! Great feeling with my HM in 4 weeks.

Hey there!

5:15am - 60 min power spin

8:15am - 2.5 mile run
9am - swim workout - consisting of:

200 w/u

100 fast
out of pool and do:
10 air squats
10 pushups

back in pool and repeat 100, squats, push ups x10.

The last two repeats were tough keeping a decent pace with the 100's, and I'll definitely feel it later!

Afternoon all

Easy day for me today as I am nursing a couple of Foot issues for a few days now Mild PF and a Morton's Neuroma both at the same time on the same foot of course that's what I get for wearing a D trail shoe when I usually run in a 2E
So I hit the gym for some strength training for an hour just could not do any heavy lifting but was able to work Quads and calfs Hammies ect using the Machines.

AM - 4 mile easy recovery run (my aerobic 10 miler turned into a harder effort 11.5 miler yesterday)

PM - 6 mile easy run

Swam 1100m this morning, plan said 1000m, I wanted 1650m, the clock said, go back to work

Biking 40 minutes tonight after work followed by a short 3 mile or so run.

Friday night here but will post Thursday for the sake of group amusement:

AM One hour trainer ride with some max intervals--ouch!

PM--3000m of the spaciest swim workout ever. I had some upsetting family news but really wanted to get the workout in as I won't be able to swim over the weekend. Clearly my mind was not on the workout:

400m warmup (so far, so good)
10 X 200m, odds swim threshold effort (3:16-3:20) with 30 seconds rest, evens pull with paddles, 15 seconds rest. Felt physically good and all was going well until halfway through repeat #8, when it suddenly occurred to me that I'd never even gotten a pull buoy and was just swimming with the paddles! Got out and did the rest of #8 and #10 as planned.
On to the 200m IM kick--then discovered that I never got a kick board either. At that point was too lazy to get out again, so I just did it without.
Did a 200m warm down, and then remembered I was going to do a final set of 6 X 50m to get 3000m. Did 3 X 50m, 50m warm down, and called it a day.

For some reason, although the workout included 1000m of pulling and kick set, it never occurred to me to get either kick board or pull buoy. I did get some fins (they're on a different side of the pool), intending to use them for the cooldown, but nothing else.

I'm on the other side of the college-student desk. I'm the one with the red pen in my hand. Those of us with schedules that change from day to day actually have an advantage, I think.
