I know a few o' youse very fun reading through the recollections. Kind of at a place in my life where you do that sort of thing.

And now I'm curious to see what on Earth is in my sig line and whether or not it still reflects any kind of reality!

Lovely to see you all. Hello and a {MELON PRESS}

2005, i met so many fellow bt'ers. Before facebook and other big social media. We used it after katrina to help locate affected friends. 2006 a big group of us trained and encouraged each other for ironman florida and we sat with each other at the prerace dinner and cheered each other on the course. I still have a couple friends who call us when they come to the beach and we visit. I stopped using the logs last year but i will go back and fix that.

A couple special memories were Lucy, one of her goals was to do a 30 minute 5k. After she died unexpectedly, someone organized a virtual 5k on here and a bunch of us went out a ran a 30 minute 5 k in her honor.

Another one was JD Wright, he was a double transplant (liver and kidney i think). He was from Indiana but had family near me. I kinda mentored him on here and he and his family came down here and he did his triathlon here. What a great day. He also passed away a couple years later.

I also enjoyed mentoring several others and those that were close by I actually raced with. Great memories of this site.

Lucy <3.  I met some great people from here.  I miss the culture - facebook and the like are not the same...nor is strava.  There was something really cool about BT.

It's fun to see some familiar names and faces here. I originally joined in August of 2006 - I'll never forget the challenge forum and the fun we had with Nibbs, although I can't for the life of me remember what it stood for.

I'm back, probably not to do tris again - although who knows. I found myself missing the camaraderie and a safe, fun place to log my workouts and write about life. It's funny, but it seems to mean more if I log my exercise myself rather than watching it being automatically tracked by a fitness device. Those little orange squares bring back good memories and some motivation.

I found BT around 2006 as I trained for my first triathlon, and didn't leave for many many years

The people I met, the inspirations, trials and errors of others all helped me keep focused and finish many races including IM's.

Fond memories of this place for sure

Great hearing from everyone!
I joined in 2008. A few years back, I bought the company from Ron so he could focus on his brewery.

It's a generous time...
Tell you what. Since I changed the logo, I have a whole bunch of BT tattoo with the old logo on them.
I'll send five for free to everyone in this thread if you PM me your mailing address!

Registered on here 2007 and was a regular until 2012. Haven't been on here in years. Sitting browsing old sites out of boredom!

Hope all old and new members are keeping well in these testing times.
