Subject: RE: Bladder cancer diagnosis - IMCDA DNSI was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2003. I know that the hardest part was in the beginning when there was so much uncertainty as to what was actually wrong. What stage was I, etc. My husband was surprised that I seemed relieved to finally get labelled a "stage 3". He didn't think that sounded so good. I thought: now we know, let's start the treatment.
During my year of chemo, I did whatever made me feel better. Not to much swim, bike, run. I enjoyed easy rollerblading through the park, strolling with the kids, sometimes just picking weeds out of the garden.
2 weeks after I finished chemo, I got a new bike. Then I decided I wanted more than the sprint races and moved on to 1/2 IM. Last year I was a DNF at IMCda (unrelated to my cancer ). This year I'll be back at Cda and WILL be an ironman.
SO WILL YOU!!
Concentrate on your health and family. The training will come back when you're ready.
