What would you do differently?: Spend $$ on wetsuit. Transition 1
Comments: It was nice being able to practice a "relaxed" transition. I decided to go sockless today. Had some sand on the bottom of my left bike shoe so it didn't want to clip in right away. What would you do differently?: Take off swim cap and goggles while running on beach instead of waiting until I got to my bike Bike
Comments: I went sockless today and it was great! I biked with Emily and Bryan - Emily knew the loop that we were taking,so I caught up to her. I was amazed at how nice the trail system was (except for a small area) and loved how the bike trail was different than the run/walk trail. Transition 2
Comments: I didn't take my helmet off right away, but could do so in the future. I decided to go sockless on the run also. Run
Comments: I ran with Emily around Lake Calhoun - we had a good time chatting...it is so much easier to run in pain when running with another person in pain :) Post race
Warm down: I am going to go sockless on the bike from now on, but not on the run - I got 3 blisters on my feet. They didn't hurt until after I stopped running. Event comments: I'm glad we all got together today to meet each other's families and train. Thanks to Emily & Tom for getting the details worked out and to everyone for all the great food and beverages!!! Last updated: 2007-05-28 12:00 AM

Ate a bagel while driving to Lake Calhoun...stuck hand in cold water and decided not to swim without a wetsuit. Talked with Emily until everyone else showed up
Practiced running in and out of water 2x
