Pre-race routine:

Ate breakfast at 10:30. Stretched a bit before leaving. Had a Clif Shot about 10 minutes before.
Event warmup:

I had only 10 minutes, so I quickly got myself together, ran for about 3 minutes and stretched a bit. Noticed that MY BOSS WAS THERE! He is the president of the Kingston Road Runners.

Comments:

I did a good job pacing myself, I think. This race was full of capital "R" Runners (only one other triathlete besides me!) so I could have easily burned out trying to keep up to them early on.
What would you do differently?:

Not be late!
Post race
Warm down:

Too busy yakking away...stretched a bit and ate all the homebaked goodies that were there.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Genetics??? :)

Event comments:

Only one water station at km 6...we all needed one earlier!

Performance: Good
Course: Went all over the place! Started going south down the big hill and onto a dirt road. Cross wind was definately there! After 2.5 km, turned around and ran UP the big hill (gasp gasp) with the same darned crosswind. Then ran west into the wind until km 6 where we turned off onto a side street.Went down 1km and then turned around to run back to the main road (wind again after turn around). Finally we turned east on the main road and the rest was a gradual uphill for about 2.5km, but no one cared because the wind was behind us!!!!!
