So much for Kansas being flat.
People assume the same thing of Nebraska, but anywhere along the river valley is going to be continuous rolling hills.
Should be fun!

I've call dibs on his bike if he does "pass".
No need for a bike in the afterlife.

Does this mean I need to make a triathlon will?

And to Oipolloi I leave my Felt S32 Tri Bike.

Montyzooma I leave my two westsuits. The trisuits he may not want to wear. Ever.

To all the hotties of triathlon, I leave only locks of my hair. I know you'd want them.

Sweet.
I'm printing this thread now for legal records, just in case.

Are there stipulations on WHEN I can actually claim the bike?  For example.....if on the return back to T2, if things are looking bad for you, can I just snatch it from you or do I have to wait until you've actually collapsed?

Anyone know if USAT has any rules against finishing the bike leg with two bikes?

So the Holiday Inn Express is already booked. Where are the out-of-towners staying?
I see another Holiday Inn on the north end of town for $87/night, and a Baymont Inn for $135/night.

Where in KS are you?

Nothing better than sleeping in your own bed the night before a race.

Wichita, so about 2.5 hours away.
We wanted to come up at least a day before to check out the race site, etc. Plus I'm banking on a BT dinner!

2.5 hours would be a early morning that's for sure.

I'm driving up Saturday as well to check out the town, maybe a BT get-2-gether.

Still planning a bike course Pre-ride sometime in April.

I believe your bike needs to be checked into the transition area on Saturday.

Never mind I should read, you said Olathe not Omaha, da!

For anyone that still has to book a room, you can get better rates in some cases (like the holiday inn) then the IM Kansas site will lead you to. If you pay early rooms at the Holiday Inn are only $87 a night.

It's a ways out, but if we put together a `night-before' BT event with racers, friends and family, who would be in?

It's pretty much a given that we have to have a BT dinner, right? I am in, anyway!

Another really good pasta place in Lawrence is Bambino's. I don't how it would work with a big group of people, but it sure is good food.

Will we need to make reservations or something? It IS on a Saturday night... who has been at a BT dinner before? How does this work?

I would be up for that. We always talked about everyone getting together last summer but it never seemed to happen. I think with an event this huge we should all try to meet up the night before. Perhaps a little early like around 5 or 6 in the evening. Or 2am race morning, its not like we sleep the night before anyway.

Hmm ... am I odd? I usually sleep like a rock the night before a race.

We must make reservations and we must have a somewhat accurate headcount, especially if we're going to get a private room. Most places will give you the room as long as you order enough food, hence the need for an accurate head count. I'd hate to reserve a room and have only 10 people show up. IF only 10 are showing it'd be best just to get a table for 10.

Not odd.... I sleep like a rock as well.

I'd say we pick a place, try to take in any dietary considerations with the location and just set a date for people to commit by. Then we can have a head count and get reservations.

Howdy! New to BT - my husband and I are doing our first HIM at Kansas 70.3. We'll be coming up from Rolla, with a handful of others who are doing the race as well. Perhaps the Rolla group can meet up with some of you beforehand.
