Anyone know what the 10K route will be? Assuming a full lap in the park, but am curious to know if we run the huge hill portion that runs basically parallel w/ 110th St. or if we take the cut-off just North of the ball fields and add some distance elsewhere.
10 Kilometer Run Runners will exit Riverside Park at 72nd Street and run across 72nd Street to Central Park. Runners turn left when entering Central Park and will run in a clockwise direction around the northern loop of Central Park. The Finish line is on Dead Road, just west of the bandshell on the 72nd Street Transverse in Central Park.
I doubt it. Most large scale races are not transferrable, but maybe if you contact the race director and know somebody whose spot you will take they might make an exception.
Its not transferable, but the Toga Biathlon in Congers, NY has 3 slots for the NYC Tri ( 2 for the overall winners & 1 give-away). Its at Rockland lake & its an awesome race.
I am signed up for the underwear run; it's little solace being I missed the deadline for the actual race 2 days later. Atleast I'll get a pair of skivvies and a free meal.
I recruited some non-tri friends to do the underwear run with me. I figured it would be a good tension breaker since it's my first race. But I'm not sure what I'm more worried about - training enough for the race, or getting in good enough shape to run in my underwear in Central Park on a Friday night. Either way, it looks like a really fun time. Can't wait to see what people wear.
Really, though, I'll be having dinner with the wife and resting for the early morning. This is the first time she'll see me race, and I can only handle being laughed at by her once per weekend.
