Hey gals:
As a larger-chested woman (which I know SOUNDS great but in actuallity is tough to be a well-endowed triathlete) I am looking for a decent sports bra. I read in Cosmo this mont about 2 sports bras called Enell and Title 9 Fog bra, and Champion action shape sports bra. Has anyone tried these and are they good? Or, what other brands have you tried that get the job done....Thanks!

I've given up. I wear 2. I'm thinking about designing my own as I have seen LOTS of women wearing 2 bras at tris..and I've only done 2 tris. I think it should be called non A non B

I'm posting to give props to the Title 9 bras....they strap the girls down like I got duct taped wrapped around them.....which is not a pleasant thought to think of really...

I saw a Pearl Izumi that looked nice but it was $50 and I really have a problem with that. NO bra is worth $50. The enell looks like a straight jacket...couldn't bring myself to do it. A big problem for me is I'm short and most sports bras do not have adjusteable straps, so if the girls fit in, they still fall out BC you can pull the dumb thing down to your waist........Some days it just sucks to be short. I still think I'm going to buy a sewing machine and start making my own.

the Ennell or Last Resort bra is worth $50. It is a straight jacket, plain and simple, but if you need it you need it.
They last longer than running shoes, but give support just as important.

I don't have big boobs, but my company owns Moving Comfort.  I went to their bra fit clinic and the main things for you to keep in mind is that you need the band to fit tighter than a regular bra and need encapsulation for the girls versus compression only.  Also, though there should be stretch in the cup area, there should not be much stretch in the shoulder area so that your bouncing will be limited.  Finally, when you put it on, your breast tissue should be fully contained (nothing spilling out of the arm holes) or you're wearing the wrong size.

If you think any of these will work for you, I can get an employee discount.  Basically, it's 40% off the price you see there plus $7 for shipping for up to 6 garments.  It's not really an amazing deal, but if you try them on at a local store and like them anyway, it'll save you a few bucks.  http://www.movingcomfort.com/Product/sportbras.html

Good luck!

I refuse to pay lots of $$ for a sports bra. I wear a size smaller, or two.

This is certainly not my area of expertise but I can well sympathize with the ladies on this issue.  I was watching a tape of the Canadian IM competition last night and chanced to see a very well endowed young lady crossing the finish line at one point.  All kidding put aside, rather than the usually male oriented reaction of "wow!", all I could think of was: "running 40 kliks with such a  load swaying to and fro all the while must be one heck of a handicap!!!!!"

Finally, an intelligent male who understands that big "girls" are not fun and games!! For an athlete it is a complete hindrance.

Hey Mary -- Having gone to bra fitting clinics for sports bras, I learned a little bit about how the bras should fit.  Be careful about wearing bras that are too small for you.  If they don't contain all of your breast tissue, they can end up causing you pain and even damage.  I'd say it's better to wear two bras in the right size than one that's too small.

A friend of mine wears a 34D, I believe, and was wearing a C sports bra at one time.  I saw how her breasts were actually spilling out of the armholes and underneath the band.  Because of that, the bra wasn't providing what it should be in terms of support.  Also, larger bras are designed to better deal with the challenges of larger breasted women.  A smaller bra may not be designed to provide as much support and have reinforcement in the right areas.

I've asked the bra fit lady at Moving Comfort to send me a pamphlet on how to fit a sports bra properly.  When I receive it, I'll let people around here know and will find a way to e-mail/fax it to those who'd like to see it.

Take care of your girls -- they're yours for life!

Well ladies, I have to live vicariously through you.  Unfortunately, all my training has caused my small Bs to go down to As.  It really sucks to have a lot of cute bras that are now "baggy."  What's worse is that Vic Sec doesn't make a lot of the cute bras in my size.  I guess they figure bandaids will do. :-(

So, treat them well.  Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone?  I shrank paradise and now I don't need a bra. ;-)

As president of the Bandaid Bra Club, I'd like to extend a warm welcome to our newest memeber, Miss Whitney. As a complimentary gift for joining our club, we'd like to send you a box of glow-in-the-dark bandaids. Husbands all over the country love them. They come in two beautiful colors and have an amazing stick and remove system that doesn't leave any glue behind.

Remeber ladies, it is never too late to join the Bandaid Bra Club. Mark your calendars because our special Christmas bandaids will be available on Dec. 1st. You can order them at www.bbc.com.

Hi ladies......I can definetely hear you on this subject....I am a 12G, not sure what the 12 is in the US, but in simple term, small torso & huge breasts....As my husband says 'GGGGGGEEEEEE'!!

My solution to this very serious issue came from me not wanting to wear my good sports bra in the water. So I train in my sports bra, then on race day I wear my 'Custom Made' bra. As I am so large, if I don't wear an underwire...I feel lost (& you may have to fight to see the belly button!!) So I went to Target and found a Bigger (Size 18) underwire bra, then took it home & took it in at the back. This acheived 3 things;
1.I was able to get a cup size to fit me
2.The straps are now more central at the back (better support)
3.Cheap as (normally would pay AUD50 for a sports bra & I paid AUD15 for this one)

Yes it does mean a little fiddling around, but overall a Supportive, Underwire, Cheap, who cares if it gets wrecked after 12months of racing Bra.

If any Aussie girls have suggestions...Please post them too....am always on the look out for bigger & better (excuse the Pun) Bras

My issue is a bit different...

I am somewhere in between the "band-aid" club and the "double bra" club. Most standard sports bras do the trick. But I am still having an issue. I just bought a tri top and there is no support. I need to wear a bra underneath. I found a champion non-cotton bra at target to wear for my oly distance race and I was soaked the entire race.

I need a "quick dry" sports bra. Please let me hear your suggestions!

I am so skeptical to buy anything over $20-$25 without good reviews and it is time to move past the cheap bra so I can somewhat dry off during my next event.

Thanks!

Not to hijack, but this needs to be said: there are men who think an athletic woman with smaller breasts is a huge turn on - my wife is a 34A and has the most perfect breasts I've ever seen (I'm not a perv BTW) - even after breast feeding three kids.

Biggun's just don't do it for me.

I know EXACTLY  which one you have.  Its a soggy mess.  I got some nice Descente bras I like very much and are resonably dry.

I like the Champion Action Shape Sports Bra for running. It has a nice adjustable back and straps, encapsulation fit, and padded underwires. Very comfy, no squashing, and it comes in white, black, and blue. I appreciate being able to choose a "real" color, even if for now I can only choose one. Unfortunately, it does have a high cotton content, so it won't work at all for racing.

I like the wired and ready for action bra from title nine; not sure who the manufacturer is; good support, comfortable. I wear them for swim/run bricks, tri's; decent wicking (coolmax), probably my favorite bra for tris and at $32 it's at least semi reasonable, the drawback is that it only comes in white or black
