Don't let your child pee on me and we're cool (yes, it happened).

1. Thou shalt not leave wet towels, razors, bandaids or other used/personal items in the shower.

2. thou shalt not leave shaving cream all over the entire shower stall!

3. thou shalt not turn the tv to soaps

I know there are plenty more, but those are the ones that get me the most

Floor is understandable - I'm not picking up wads of hair that may or may not be mine. But, on the WALL? Seriously people.

  • Signing up to rent one of the limited year-round lockers, thinking that this will help in keeping that New Year's resolution to work out, and then never showing up to the gym again.
  • Doing 15 minutes of a non-sweating activity does not mean you need to take a shower right after.
  • YELLING at the top of your lungs over the hair dryer to continue the conversation you're having with 5 of your friends, who are also YELLING.

1. Out of respect for others, cover up.  Especially if you are just standing around gabbing.

2. Don't hog the mirror and dump your makeup all over the counter.

3. Refrain from excessive use of perfume or spray products.

4. Get in and get out, this isn't a lounge, girls!

Isn't it funny that the men are complaining about others talking about women in the locker room? I have yet to hear women talk about the other sex in the locker room. It's always about kids, school, day-care, illnesses, or family stuff.

1. Don't sing, hum, or whistle. It's annoying, not cheerful. I might have my own happy thoughts going on that you are disturbing.

2. Don't talk on your cell phone. (Happens EVERY time I'm in the locker room--despite the big NO signs.) Nothing is that important that it can't wait until you're dressed and can talk out in the hallway.

x2 on the yelling over the blow-dryer noise! (or any other noise)

3. Don't turn off the jets in the jacuzzi because you don't like them. That's what a jacuzzi is for, I happen to like them, and I was there first. At least, ask first if it's okay to turn them off.

4. Don't sit and talk to your friends while they're getting dressed. If you're done, make room for others and wait in the lounge for your friends. (My gym's locker room is small and there are never enough benches.)

5. Don't waste energy by excessive showering: you wouldn't stretch under the running water for 10 minutes at home, would you? Just because the water is "free" with a paid gym membership doesn't mean we don't need to conserve energy. (Especially here in AZ where we have very little water.)

6. Don't leave the torture instruments lying all over the place. They scare me! Put them back in the little holders you got them from. (I'm talking about hair straighteners or whatever those contraptions are.)

7. If you must use hair spray don't spray it while the fan is pointed at you. It blows the gooey stuff all over the place and into my clean hair. Yuck.

8. If you must bring your kids to the regular locker room (there are family rooms available) then don't let them get into my stuff. And if I yell at them don't get mad at ME! If you had taught them how to behave in public then we wouldn't have this argument. (Happened a couple of weeks ago--and the kids were not toddlers anymore but old enough to understand, like 6 or 7. They laughed at me when I told them to get their hands out of my gym bag! Mom was right there getting dressed. I couldn't believe it!)

Maybe some of us have cabin fever this time of year from spending too much time at the gym. Going on a ride/run outside is always better!

But don't get me started on those squirrels crossing my path

I just remembered another one. When it's that time of the month, please turn around and make sure the flush was complete. I've walked in on too many pink bowls. Gah!

As a good friend of mine once said: Your menstrual cycle is a small price to pay for being a Woman.

Our locker room is old, saggy, naked lady central. I just do NOT want to see that at 7am! A scant few who walk around stark naked or in their undies are chiseled or at least thin and perky, but in general, I don't really want to see that in the morning. But most who walk around nekkid should NOT be nekkid in public. (like old, saggy, naked lady parts)

And kids in the locker rooms at night drive me nuts. We have a designated family room, but people sort of disregard it. Snotty little kids (esp. boys) running around and STARING at me while I'm trying to daintily wriggle out of my wet bathing suit. Blech.

I was a resident advisor in college and I had a coed floor. I had to have a floor meeting with my girls wing about missing the toilet and not using the "sanitary" trash cans in the bathroom stalls. Little awkward for a guy to call a floor meeting with his girls wing to discuss this.

They are not naked in public.  They are naked in a locker room which is a defined area in which you take off your clothes (hence are naked) to do things like shower or put other clothes on.

I walk around naked in the locker room all the time and I'm super fat and I bet there are lots of people that don't like it.  But that's what locker rooms are FOR.

I go swimming at the Y every Wed night, and the locker room is usually pretty deserted, but there are two teenage girls (I'm guessing about 14) who are always in there at that time. They hang out by the sinks, doing makeup or something, and loudly talking about their drama-filled high school lives, using language that is quite vulgar (and did I mention LOUD). Now I am a frequent user of colorful language, but generally not in public places, especially those that are supposed to be family friendly. Last Wed I almost asked them to stuff a sock in it, but they left before I had a chance (I was in a changing stall). Maybe this week!

I usually walk naked out of the shower to my locker to get dressed with my towel on my head.  I feel the same as jldicarlo, it's what the space is used for.  I am usually pretty quick about drying and dressing so it's a temporary nakedness.

If I am naked, please don't stop to talk to me!

this and the mens thread has had me in stitches! Hilarious!

A couple of additions..

- Please do not lift your leg onto the high bench in front of the mirror to apply your lotion whilst completely butt naked - urrggh - (have seen the same woman do this several times, nasty)

- Please do not bend over to cut your toenails whilst completely butt naked - (have seen another woman do this several times - yuck)

- Please do not stand around loudly bragging to your friends about how much training you are doing / how fit you are / how the classes are just too easy for you (yep heard this several times as well again same person every time)

- Please do not leave your mp3/music player on and sing along while in the changing rooms

- Everyone has to get a little naked at times, but please cover up as soon as possible, a towel would do, I really do not want to have to see your nakedness at the mirror, drying your hair, doing your make up etc etc.
