  • Comments: This was a well-run race. I had no problems with any of the logistics around the swim start or where to go at any time. There were plenty of water stations. I'd definitely do this race again!

  • Comments: This was a fun race. Great course, good food, and the massage line wasn't bad. Very spectator friendly. Parking and packet pick-up were easy. My only concern is the number of participants. It was really crazy at times on the second loop. I even saw ppl braking on the uphills....that should never happen.

  • Comments: I really enjoy this course a lot. But 2,000 is a LOT of people on that bike course. And if rumors are true that they are going to increase the size, then I may not go back many more times. There also seem to be some other issues with its growing size that make it harder to manage some of the 'details' (pedestrian crossing near the bike-in just after a fast descent, some timing screw-ups, confusing registration process, etc.) But lots of volunteers, decent post-race food and the kids' races on Sat are nice.

  • Comments: Great race for me, good baseline for me so now its time to buckle down and improve the 3 disciplines. 1. Not stop nomatter what when swimming. 2. Get bike fixed and then re-fitted for a better aero position 3. Figure out a way to secure water bottles on read hydration 4. add 1 gel for every 25min 5. practice getting on bike at T1 6. Run and push self at end of race Overall I had a great race, had alot of fun and wished I could of seen the awards ceremony but I had to get going.

  • Comments: The number of participants is definately at its limit now. Bike course was tight. The timing seemed to be off yesterday and they posted several different times. I think they may have had an issue with the starter on the swim course. They may have not been on the same page with the timing mats. As I said, in the end they did get the overall time pretty much right so thats what counts. The volunteers were outstanding and the race is in general very well run and a lot of fun. A really good race. Was glad I pushed through the crash and finished.

  • Comments: My overall goal was to finish in 2:45:00. I finished 2:51:13. For being my first Olympic distance race, I think it went well. I know that the swim is my achilles, and I just need to figure out besides from more OWS, how to practice sighting in a pool (close eyes while swimming, sight an object while swimming). In general, I was happy.

  • Comments: One thing I will say. I love to see lots of folk come out and participate but honestly this course is technical and very tight. The 2nd loop of the bike course is like the Tour de Philly but with people who look like they just sat on their bikes for the first time. Rumor has it that they are going to expand this race to 5000 people. Well the next rumor you are going to hear is that if that happens I am out....

  • Comments: great race. can't think of a single complaint. like any race there could have been more port-a-johns and i'm not totally thrilled with the point to point swim, but neither caused any issues. the river is always questionable up until the race, but it was great. perfect temp and plenty clean. they did screw up the transition set up (bike out and in was on the same side), but i was near that side so i shouldn't complain.

  • Comments: Awesome race. Organization up there with the best race I have ever done. Post-race food was money - great harvest bread with honey/PB, tomato pie (YUM), big hoagies, cookies, bananas and yogurt. Lots of volunteers. At the award ceremony we learned that the race earned 75,000 for Childhood Cancer at Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia and that the TNTers in the race earned 800k+. That is some cool stuff.

  • Comments: Awesome race from every angle. Well run, organized and fun atmosphere. The large group from Team in Training really helps keep everything in perspective. They had a great time and raised a bunch of money.

  • Comments: Good race, just too far away from home to make it worth doing again (tons of traffic, huge lines for everything, staying in hotel). Race course was nice and I really liked the swim (very straight).

  • Comments: The Philadelphia Triathlon was a great race. Three years ago I did the sprint distance and really enjoyed it. I missed registration in ’06, and then came the wreck and rehab, so this was the first chance I had to do this race again. This time I raced the Olympic distance and had a pretty good race. I haven’t done this distance in over two years.

  • Comments: I do have a few drawbacks re: this race. 1) they kept telling us that the lines for the porta potties at the swim start would be short, but they were really long and I got there really early even. Also, some of the potties were locked from the inside and out of use (or else someone was having an extreme case of nerves!) 2) on picking up the swim start bags, they were just dumped willy nilly at the top of Black Rd, so it was near impossible to find your bags. It wouldn't have been hard to just pile them by race number, would it? Next time, they need to just do something as simple as putting little sticks int he ground with a piece of paper saying 100-199, 200-299, etc. and then pile the respective bags around the right one. Ah well. Eventually found my bag, unlike some folks who were wandering around very pissed off and tired and not wanting to dig through 1000+bags in order to find their flip flops. Oh, and also, I checked my times like 5 minutes ago, and they were 30 seconds
