  • Comments: Wonderful sprint in beautiful neighborhood (biased resident :) ) Well organized. Nice people. Clean facilities. Probably could have delayed some of the swimmers if I were to 'knit-pick".

  • Comments: This is a very well run race that is lots of fun. It is terribly expensive for a sprint ($100!) The hoodie is a nice bit of swag, but not something I'll wear anytime soon what with the weather.

  • Comments: All in all this race is very good for a first timer, or someone who is just trying to get back into triathlon after a long break. This is also a great first event of the season.

  • Comments: I thought that this was a very fun local race that I would definitely like to do again. The swim was a bit congested but that is sort of expected when you have a pool swim. I thought that it was well organized and well supported.

  • Comments: this has been a very good local race for a few years and is becoming a very good race local or not. it has it's quirks (small, race day chip pickup, bad transition pavement/setup, no age on calves), but they do the important things right and it's always a good time.

  • Comments: Thanks to Ally and Dan for volunteering. This race is one of the best in the area. We know the RDs and they are awesome. VAMDBTTC did so well, as always. The biggest problem in this area is that there are too many good races in May. This one will always be on my calendar.

  • Comments: This is the only race consistently on our calendar as we've done it since 2006. Pros and cons are similar to last year. It's a fast, fun course. It makes it even better that we have such a great BT showing. One of my favorite parts of the race is seeing so many people I know out on the course. And thanks to Dan and Ally for volunteering!

  • Comments: I love this race! Shandra(RD) does a great job with organization and the relaxed feel to this venue makes for a great 1st tri of the season. So, there were performance, mental and setup issues for me on this race. So what!!! I really had a great time today. A great, fun day for me regardless of my times or standings. Made a big improvement over last year and I'll continue to make more improvements. That's what it's all about, right? :) Also very thankful for all the people I've met on BT in the last year and got to hang out with for a bit at the race. You guys make me laugh and I appreciate that more than you know. :)

Included my awards, I ended up with the following schwag: water bottle, half-zip long sleeve pull over type shirt (try to beat that with your 100% cotton race tee), visor, TYR Transition Bag, $30 gift card to tri shop, and I think something else that I'm forgetting.

  • Comments: good local race. there are some annoyances you have to deal with (terrible transition surface, always freezing, inconvenient packet pickup, early start, etc.), but once all that is over, i always enjoy the race. good course, good finish line atmosphere, good schwag, and a good cause.

  • Comments: Third year in a row of doing this race. It's nice to be able to sleep in our own bed, but the 6:30 race start is early. Pros - chip timing. fun, fast course. local race. decent give aways in packets. results were posted fast (at the race site and on the internet) Cons - early and cold. lot of transition area is awful and desperately needs to be repaved if people are walking/running barefoot. one of the stands serving coffee ran out of cups. took a while to get the awards ceremony going, but maybe it seemed longer b/c I was cold. Very fun race, mostly b/c of the BT showing. Will add this to next year's schedule.

  • Comments: Good race. I knew I wasn't going to beat my time from 2 years ago so I was able to just do my best and enjoy myself. The spectators were awesome (getting up at 7 on a cold Sunday just to cheer people on? wow!) I just had fun. and the best part? I placed in my age group!! I never in a million years thought that would happen. If I'd had any idea I would've stayed for my medal! How awesome is that? Tri #13, one of the most fun, *and* I place in my AG?!! w00t! I'm feeling great. this is the motivation I need to kick up my training so I can do well in Pittsburgh.
