  • Comments: I thought I was good to go ordering a medium women's t-shirt---not so much! Skin tight BEFORE I washed it---afterwards, I'm not sure if it would fit a barbie doll! I do like my snuggly blanket swag we got, though!

  • Comments: So - it's 24 hours later - what have I learned? - My long training runs - I need to step it up a bit there - sure, I can do a 20 miler - no problem. They need to be run at a better speed though - not always at that "Sunday Drive" pace. - Long Runs - more of them - I had followed a beginners plan for Thunder Road, modified it for MB. I'm definitely ready to step it up - it's not about finishing anymore, it's about getting faster. - Hydration - I didn't do a good job of hydrating in the days before the race. Sure, I was drinking, but not on any specific plan. I need to work on that. - Know your limits - I had a plan - 9 minute miles. I had no business cranking out 8:24 so early in the race - I should know better. This isn't a 5K and I'm not 20 years old. I always laugh at the people that go out too fast - "They're going to regret that later." Ha - the joke was on me. Surprisingly, I feel pretty good today - not nearly as sore as after Thunder Road. • Comments: I am not sure how to post a race report for a race that was cancelled. Myrtle Beach city officials cancelled the race at 10:30 last night because of snow.IMO,they made a mistake. They could have delayed the start till 9 or 10 this morning when the snow was basicly gone. This race had people from 48 states and other countries. As a minimum, they should have had a contingency plan for bad weather. So far there are no offers for refunds or credit for next year's race. No matter what they do I won't be going back to Myrtle Beach.

  • Comments: I wanted to run this slow and my thinking of slow was like 5:30 but Ive never done a stand alone marathon. I just went out to have fun and keep on my feet. I didnt even have to try to go slow! LOL it just happened. I didnt wear my garmin or anything cause I wasnt going to worrry about my time and didnt want to get upset if my pace was like a slug. At mile 5 my shirt was rubbing my arm and burning so at mile 7 we went past our hotel. Tried to call Tanner to get him up to bring me down a change of shirt but didnt answer. Waited a minute tried again and he was in the shower. I didnt have my key so I had to wait for him so he could unlock the entrance door to get to the room. So I changed my shirt and grabbed a diet dew and had about a third of that and then headed back out to the street and jumped back in the run. Porta potties were hard to come by and only had 2 per stop so the lines were long. Waited for 3 maybe 4 of them throughout the run. At mile 9 I met a lady from Atlanta
