  • Comments: This was a very interesting race for me. I was looking forward to a fun race to wipe out the debaucle that was Eagleman. My only goal was to have fun. I also wanted to do the bike in less than an hour. I was so honored to be named as a Diamond Girl for women who inspire and received a "lifetime achievement award" as I get to race the Philly Women's Tri free forever. Yippee. Anyone know anyone wanting to get into this game, just have them contact me. We'll start up again in the winter.

  • Comments: This was a very organized, spectator friendly race. Plently of volunteers and drink stations. The course was well marked. The only thing I didn't like was a spot on the bike course where we went over a bridge with some metal parts with ridges. I didn't see anyone have problems with it on my first loop because the course wasn't as crowded, but there were 5 people on the side of the bridge during the second loop. I'll bet they had problems when their tires hit that metal part. I didn't have any problems because I was uber cautious (of course!!) when I crossed over it :) This was my 2nd tri and I tried to go through it with a "push it" mentality instead of a "just get through it" mentality like I had during my first race. Hopefully I'll continue to improve!

  • Comments: I thoght this was a really well run race. The volunteers were great out there on the bike course and had me laughing at some points. The post race food was above par too. I will definitely consider doing this race again next year.

  • Comments: Very well organized. Love all the free stuff. I did this race because it was all women and the free mentor's. My mentor was great - better then I expected! She was there at the finish line, had us over to train a few times, provided good info, and always answered questions. I love the triathlon community, everyone is very supporting. I don't see the elitism I see with other sports. That may be just those I was exposed to though? It seems more "swim/bike/run YOUR race" then always win win win. I thought the race was expensive ($115). I'd like to do it again next year, but that may hold me back.

  • Comments: First off, initially I hadn't been sure about an all-woman's tri. MOstly because, well, I'd already done a unisex one on the same course. But due to my unhappiness with my results last time, I wanted another go at it. I thought the race was really well-run. The pre-race expo was jam packed with stuff (not as much free goodies as the Philly Insurance Tri, but lots more vendors selling good stuff). And the race volunteers were awesome. There was some confusion about the swim start, but it got sorted out. Everyone seemed really great and helpful, and the food at the end rocked, there was tons of it. I thought this was a great event with some great schwag. We got an awesome handbottle for running with from Nathan Sports and a really nice wicky tee. Overall a good race, though I don't think I'd do it again since it's pretty similar to the Philadelphia INsurance race.

  • Comments: You got a nice finishers medal and cheesy TYR gear bag. They had french toast, soda, water ice and all the normal food goodies afterward. The only thing I didn't like was that they could have combined the waves some so that the last wave wasn't 45 minutes after the first. I started 35 minutes after the first whistle.

  • Comments: Overall good race, everyone was so friendly and things were well organized. i know there are parts of this race report that sound negative, it's just that this whole sport is an eye opener to me. I have been an athlete all my life (soccer, basketball, lacrosse, softball), but racing is a TOTALLY different animal. i'm a very competitive person, but with this sport it's not really about the competition, it's about overcoming physical endurance and mental obstacles. the only competition should be with yourself and your personal goals, everyone else there wants you to do well too! this is something i need to learn so i dont get down on myself. look at me - i am now a triathlete, and i am proud. and, yes, i will tri again!

  • Comments: I finished with a total time of 1:46:47. That put me 220/404 overall and 30/43 in my age group (35-39). That’s a solid middle of the pack placing and I’m pretty happy with that. We got very cool finishers medals (yay!) and lots of good food afterwards (another yay!). Jeremy did a great job running from place to place to watch me. He’s the best! This was a GREAT race and I'm sorry that we won't be here next year to do it again. Hat's off to the organizers!

  • Comments: I was very impressed with this race. It was very organized, the race announcer got everyone psyched as we were waiting in the water, there were lots of volunteers, they had the road closed to traffic, and the overall vibe was positive and fun.
