  • Comments: BuDu Races are always well organized but lower key (and lower cost!). Usual food spread which definitely provides enough for post race. There was one water station on the run and that was appreciated. I was getting pretty warm and could've used another but I'm guessing I was one of the few and I was fine.

  • Comments: Another good Budu race. I've done this race three years in a row. Budu does a nice job. As long as the pavement is dry it's a fast fun bike ride. If wet, watch out as the pavement is slick. The run has a few modest hills, so be ready. Swim is very easy.

  • Comments: Budu does a nice job with their races. I've done about 10 of their events. They are not spectacular, but they are very consistent, well-organized and the results are posted almost immediately on the course and on the web in a few hours.

  • Comments: PR for me, so I thought it was a great race! Nice venue, lots of folks out directing the course. Apparently there were some big crashes right at the bike entrance back into the park because the turn in was not being announced early enough and people were going too fast to make the turn, plus the pavement was wet, and there was gravel. My husband gave me a yell about a block before the turn in to slow down and get ready. Such a good supporter!

  • Comments: Dave said he would do this race WITH me awhile back. I'm not sure he realized how pleasant that made the experience for me. I've had not so fun races before and this one was good. We ended up doing the "retro" category. Which meant no wetsuits, no tri bike, no aero gear, etc. Its a category they have at a few of BuDu's events and a portion of the registration fees go to JDRF. It ended up being fun! We had our own cheering squad - they brought us towels to dry off with after the swim..it was fun! There were only 4 of us - so Dave & I tied for third place :-) And combined we won the spirit award and we won a growler of Mac & Jack's (mmm...good beer...) About the race in general: It was a great race. After working for BuDu I had yet to actually do an event. And it is a pretty well run machine. All the volunteers are nice and most of the participants cheer each other on - that is what I love about triathletes. The course wasn't too trying, but it was enough of a challenge. Did I mention

  • Comments: I think that BuDu does a good job, very organized. I really like the pressed glass finisher awards. Something different than a medal.

  • Comments: Decent small race. Budu has a good race here. Only issue I had was that there wasn't very many porta potty's and so many of us where in the State park bathroom all at once. Also parking wasn't well marked. However, the race was still very good, and I anticipate doing it again next year!

  • Comments: Considering that I didn't know I was doing this race until yesterday...I am very happy with it!! It is definitely a PR for a sprint-distance. The race I did here in 2007 only had a 12 mile bike ride, and today's was 14, and my times are the same. Figure it out, I kicked it! It was really fun to go out hard and give it my all. Once again, BuDu racing put on a fantastic event. Next race, rock n roll half marathon on Saturday!!

  • Comments: This was a fun race. I have done other races on the same course and really like the course. I ended up winning a prize in the drawing. Some Nuun and a water bottle. I will do this race again in the future.

  • Comments: Great event held by BuDuRacing. Well organized and everyone was very helpful/friendly. The volunteers were wonderful and there was plenty of food/water at the finish. I would go back next year and recommend this race to beginners as it has a very short swim and pretty easy course

  • Comments: So its like midnight on Fri night....when did my wife start snoring like that? Are the people upstairs bunnies? Dont they ever need to take a moment to rest? Why am I still awake? Ive been in bed for 2 hours and Im wide awake and my heart is pounding like I just ran a 5k. I have to get up and do a tri in a few hours! Should have been my first clue..... I fall asleep eventually, the alarm going off a few short hours later. The start to the day goes well, its not raining like forecasted, and its fairly warm. I'm feeling ok. Shell and I get in the car and drive to the race. It appears to be well organized and everyone is pleasant, it's going to be a good day. I set up transition and put on my wetsuit. I walk with others to the lake and get in. I submerge myself in the water and dunk my head a few times to acclimate to the water. It isnt too cold. I had done open water a couple of weeks ago in a short workout and knew I had to get comfy before I tried to swim. I swim from

  • Comments: Thought it was well fun. First time for Budu racing to use the timing chips. Funny, I got to bask in the glory of being '3' out of the water for my age group for a couple of days. They assigned me to the wrong wave. My wave went after I did....thus since I was almost the last out of the water from my wave...it looked I like i was 3 for my 'real' wave. oh well, maybe someday!
