  • Comments: the mile markers on the run weren't right and it kind of threw me off. But I was slow no matter how you cut it on the run.

  • Comments: Like most SoCal tris, this was excellent. Perhaps because they had solid USAT officials, I didn't see any of the problems with drafting I've seen earlier this season. If I want to move up the podium in LA-area races I have work to do! The guy who won the ag had a great swim and solid run. The guy just behind him is a great runner, who ran track in college. results: http://www.geminitiming.com/posts/strawberry-fields-sprint-triathlo...

  • Comments: I really enjoyed my first triathlon and the people, racers, and volunteers were very helpful. I can't wait for my next two which I'm already signed up for. Plan on improving my time by at least 10-20 minutes, maybe more!

  • Comments: The conditions in the water were as good as one could hope for in an ocean swim. The bike course was flat with plenty of room (for the most part) to pass, and the run was flat, too. It was a day for speed. One more thing: the day before the race I stepped on a scale for the first time since December and it looks like I've lost 25 pounds. If I keep up the weight loss, I may not be able to enter as a Clydesdale next year. I could live with that.

  • Comments: What a great day. This was a very well organized race. Plenty of volunteer help and a well laid out course with good trafic control. My friends from the California Velo Club finished their first race with a respectable time and had fun. I had a great time. I am much happier with my own effort here than I was with my last race. I'll be back next year.

  • Comments: Great race, I realy had fun. It is nice to do a race like this where even those of us who will never be stellar athletes, can still have fun and succeed.

  • Comments: Good race for 1st tri due to the flat course. 1st part of swim is a bit tough due to effort getting out through waves. Overall, I had a great time despite a terrible swim. I'll chalk up all the lessons and do better next time. This was my first triathlon. I got through it with a smile and feeling good.

  • Comments: This is a pretty good race, I have issues with pre race organization, but not a big deal. I don't blame the RD for canceling the swim. Frankly, as I said, was a thought that went through my mind. He has to do what's best and safest for everyone. I'm bummed for people if it was their first tri, but in reality, they probably never would have done another after that swim. It's really amazing to me, with a swim, I am near enough to the middle to dream about being competetive someday with a couple more years of base. Without the swim, I am pitiful. I know they are my limiters, but it's very discouraging to see where I end up. It's close to the DFL category, and even though it's better than DNF and DNS.... it still sucks.

  • Comments: I am not given it a better rating, simply because of the lack of swim, can't blame the race organizer, but I would have liked to swim it

  • Comments: This is second annual Strawberryfields Triathlon. And it is better than last year. But I do have one complaint. Many of the volunteers in the remotes locations had some sort of ailment (crunches, wheel chair, etc.) A guy in front of my went down on the ride and she couldn't do anything to help him out. He was ok, but jsut scary.
