  • Comments: This is always a favorite--our Go-to for the last 11 years. The weather can be a total B but I like the 'flat' course. First time doing the half, course is fine. Lambeau is always a cool distraction at the end. Gotta love the beer and brats too. Band was Ok.

  • Comments: I was surprised at how crowded the finish area was. It never occured to me at the time that people had the option to do the half even if they signed up for the full. We didn't hear that it was called until we were in the car heading home when all our phones went off. It is the right call when the local facilities are full. Buttom line is that people need to know there bodies and limitations. But I know how it is when you train for it and are ready you just want to push so bad that common sense can go right out the window. That is why they had to be the voice of reason and shut it down. Still sucks!

  • Comments: (you know, I usually try and keep race reports light and fun but this one just didn't feel light or fun - it was incredibly disappointing for the full marathoners and halfsies that didn't get to finish. While I was proud of my performance, I was bummed that I didn't get to chase a time goal that I'd had in my head for months... overall, kind of an intense experience. Overall great but yea... intense)

  • Comments: I have always liked this race. It is huge but very well run and if you seed yourself right it does not feel crouded at all after the first mile. Always lots of aid and water stations with tons of help. And as I said nice and flat just the way I like my runs.

  • Comments: I really do like Sean Ryan's events. The only problem is the extra people are bringing on restrictions like for post race food and drink and the quality and price of the pasta dinner. Who wants to pay $16 for a pasta dinner! But I will keep coming back because it is a great hometown event!

  • Comments: Great race, I usually like the smaller ones but they do a very nice job in Green Bay. Have done two halfs and a full there and will be on my calendar for years.

  • Comments: Not a PR for me this year - I've ran this race over 2' faster last year. We didn't put a focus on this race at all. Still a good effort put out (mentally and physically) in this race and I'm fine with how everything went. As for how the race was ran...Sean's (the RD) races are always top notch and his attention to detail is superb. Everything is ran very well and the organization perfect. And, you just can't beat all-you-can-eat brats and beer at the finish line!

  • Comments: Well, I am finally getting around to submitting this but I just want to leave the final note that I am so happy and proud of not only what I accomplished but also what all the other first timers did out there especially my Dad. I really didn't realize how hard it is to train for distance events but I certainly saw that these past few months. I look forward to the challenge again, but not too soon. Congrats to everyone who accomplished their dreams!

  • Comments: The Green Bay marathon and events is always put together really well. Always a good event to take part of. You really can't beat brats and beer at the end either. There is a group of local guys in my AG that usually take most of the small races around here. Pretty fast guys and must be ex-college runners. 5 of the top 10 OA were in my AG. Top 3 OA were in my AG. Tough crowd for sure!

  • Comments: I am ecstatic over the time of 2:13 which solidly beat my realistic goal of 2:30 and tied my best ever training time of 2:13 (4/29/07 on a treadmill with 0% incline). Doing a half-marathon was never even in my stretch goals until this year and is something I never though I would attempt. I followed an 18 week training plan (Prevea Plan extended back 6 weeks) incorporating weight lifting and cycling for cross-training. I never missed a single scheduled training activity until week 16 when I traded a 7 mile easy run for a 1 hour sports massage (which I needed so bad for very tight hamstrings and calf muscles). The training experience was awesome and this run made it all worthwhile. This is clearly in the top 5 personal accomplishments of my life. Thanks Pam for suggesting the possibility and encouraging me to try it. Is there a full-marathon in the future? -- never say never!
