  • Comments: So a couple of things in closing. Did the same course in June, and my overall time was: 1:20:59 and my time in August was 1:18:31. So the improvement was 2 1/2 minutes faster. Nice. There was an irritating moment that still bothers me. When the results where posted I was 3rd in my age group, later when the medals where handed out I found out I was 4th due to a "math error" when I looked at the place racer's time, I don't agree with it. I know how many bikes where in the rack, and that nobody passed me on the run (males that is) and the 4th place run time was significantly slower than mine. So I'm wondering how it occurred (did he start in a different wave)? Anyway on to the next race.

  • Comments: Well set-up course, and lots of food at the finish. Awards was pretty cool too, but a TON of timing screwups which kind of annoyed me. I would've liked to know my run split. Good race though, will do it again next year to compare times!

  • Comments: I liked the relaxed and friendly crowd at this race. One person I paced on the bike ride stopped and talked to me. My rack section was by age group, so us gals also chatted. Food was good and out in the open instead of a transition area which made the event more relaxed. Racking was fine with 6-8 bikes to a rack.

  • Comments: This was my first race. I signed up with my wife for the "Retro" division which seemed like fun. There was a group of about 20 of us - we all had a really good laid back attitude. Some people wore really cool eighties costumes. My wife and I found some headbands and Neon raybans. I hope they do it again - it was a great way to get introduced to the sport. Deanna from Budu was really great - very friendly and encouraging.

  • Comments: This was my first Triathlon so I really had nothing to rate this race against. I really enjoyed it and thought it was well organized and everything was pretty much on time (start was delayed by 5 or 6 minutes). I wish they would have had more water on the running course as they only had one station at about the 1.75 mile mark I think? I was dying for a drink of water by that point.

  • Comments: This was a great first race. I neve felt like I didn't know where to go or what was going on. There was plent of food afterwards, and the cheering from the volunteers was awesome!

  • Comments: Lots of fun again. Like the rest of my races, I am impressed with how nice triathletes are. Fun to be a part of this group. The intake of free stuff seemed a bit light here but maybe I was spoiled from Seafair. Overall super fun!

  • Comments: Great race, as always. Awards took a very long time to get going and many people had gone home. They also should sweep the shoulders of the course for gravel beforehand, as there were some big piles out there. Otherwise, it was top-notch. After the race I headed to my husband's family reunion and then to my sister's birthday party. She'd at least gotten a nap, that brat! :) It was fun to hang around with our race numbers on our legs together. Good times!! JUST FOUND OUT THAT I WAS FIRST PLACE ATHENA! Looks like BuDu had a mess up with results as it happened to others, as well....yay!

  • Comments: This may end up being my last race this year. I am still debating doing the flowing lake tri in early September. I have been very happy with all of my races this year. I have placed 2 or 3 in my age group in all 4. Next year I hope to improve that to #1.

  • Comments: Turned out there were 2 speedy girls in my AG ahead of me! I don't know what's up with my AG in this city. I swear all the local races I've been to, my AG has just been so hard! 1st girl came in 2nd overall in the race! If I was a guy I would have won 25-29 AG today... Oh well! At least I got 3rd - this is the first time I podiumed in a triathlon. 8/26 Update: After looking at official results, turns out I was 1st in AG afterall! They must have messed something up in the preliminary results :) Great local race! Very family friendly. They had a kids triathlon after the sprint was over too.

  • Comments: What a great race!!!! Loved the course, it was so scenic. I will certainly do this again. I only wish there were more water stations on the run as I didn't bring my bottle with me this time.

  • Comments: This was my first Budu race and I really enjoyed it. It was really nice to be in manageable waves. My one big complaint with Danskin is that the waves are SO big that I felt completely surrounded by people on the swim and it was freaking my freak! There were some logistical problems, but they didn't let it harm the fun and professionalism of the race. For me this was an important race because it was out of my comfort zone moreso than Danskin. I've done Danskin four times now, so I needed to get out and do another triathlon to show myself that I can. I am very proud of every leg of the race! I felt strong. I don't feel like I took any stupid chances. I feel like I competed only with myself...well okay, I did try to pass people, and I was thrilled that I wasn't last out of the water. But I wasn't feeling anxious after the initial part of the swim. Triathlons challenge me so that's why I do them. I don't "love" them like I love running, but I do feel proud about getting out there just

  • Comments: Great race - lots of fun... well organized. Started 20 minutes late - my only complaint. Race results posted immediately after race on site! Fun post-race give-aways, neat course. My best race to date!

  • Comments: Started late..Disorganized... Didn't have an awards ceremony afterwards (when for 2+ hours after the race they said they were getting ready to start the ceremony).. then a computer cliche and they would mail us our award for placing...
