Title says it all.  I live in Texas and it is undoubtedly hotter than h*ll down here, so how do others solve the issue of sweat in the eyes while cycling?  Sweat gets all over my sunglasses and in my eyes and it's really annoying.

I have read about a head band called a Halo headband which can divert the sweat away from the eye area, but wondered if others had any experience with this or similar products or what others were doing.

Thanks!

I'm a heavy sweater, and have had very good experience with Halo. I have the doo-rag version, and it works great under the helmet.  Two thumbs up!

Cheers, Chris

Ride faster...the wind will blow it back away from your eyes.

I am not a huge "sweater" but some mountaineering friends told me that Chapstick works great if you put it on your eyebrows, and forehead... I assume bodyglide may work the same?  Cheap fix if it works !

I wear a bandanna under my helmet. Most people give me crap for it but I don’t care, it works and that’s what matters... Tongue out

I forget who told me but you just run a line of vasaline across your forehead below your helmet but above your eyebrows and it diverts the sweat to the side as it's oil based. I did it on my IM race and it worked perfectly for the whole thing.

I'm in Indonesia (read: equatorial tropics) and the Halo sweatbands work great for me; even when soaked, they still divert sweat away from my face.

Not so much luck with the chapstick/vaseline tricks.

I wear the halo du-rag during the cooler to cold months and the sweat band version when it's warm to hot. Works like a charm.

Just purchased the Halo for my husband, EBAY, 9.95 with free shipping, he loves it.

My wife picked up an Under Armour skull cap that seems to work pretty good the couple times I have tried it.  Plus it eliminates the funny looking things the helmet does to my hair when I take it off!

Nice looks like the Halo is a popular choice, I will probably get both the du-rag and sweatband versions for the different weather as Daniel has attested to.

Thanks for the tips!

oh yea-I will also try to ride faster, lol, but that usually only makes it worse as the sweat pours down faster than it gets out of the way.  Actually, I think riding slower would help more, but that's no fun.

I'm capable of overwhelming my Halo headband when the sweat really starts flowing.  I don't know that there's a perfect solution.  However, for most days the Halo is pretty good.

I have the Halo do-rag and have used it for a few years now. I recently bought a new version of it that is more like a skull cap. Same band and material, no tail hanging out the back.

You can always go with th 'Kip' look:

Or the Tupac look:
