So, what's the good stuff going on with you? What's making you smile/ feel grateful/etc?

Doesn't have to be the big stuff.

For me -

  • pregnancy continues to go well - 26 weeks and counting at this point. My little one is moving around quite a bit.
  • My little sister's birthday is tomorrow and I get to see my family
  • Spring! It seems to be coming - heard birds chirping when leaving the house yesterday and today - it makes me very very happy!

I guess this is the preggo update?!?

- Enjoyed a nice trip.back "home". Got to see quite a few people in the few days! Got to see some snow and was a able to get out before the "big" snow hit!
-Got first baby gift...a little set of play keys. : ) And even bought the first clothing items. Found this so cute little fuzzy outfit for winter, complete with teddy bear ears on the hood!
- Tuesday is next dr..appt, they'll schedule the big ultrasound which will be the gender reveal! I'll need to restrain myself from too much clothes shopping after that!

Baby, baby, baby I guess!

received my sons results from his IAAT placement test, he's recommended for advanced math in middle school.

He's doing all honor courses when he starts middle school plus and this is the cool bit, he's graduating elementary a year ahead!

very proud parent moment this week :-)

took on 2 new departments in the office and managed to get two of my trusted team members promoted to manager/lead roles.  very happy for them, they've worked super hard for me for some time.

* Nice weather weekend coming! And the Seattle Bike Expo is Sunday.

* My wife is back from Illinois!

* Daughter's progress report from school came last weekend -- she's doing well.

* Ti Cycles got me in for a frame building class in a week and a half.

And... I'm not pregnant. But Lisa is! Laughing

1. It was at the funeral of one friend's mother, but I did get to visit with several high school buddies. Don't get to do that often enough.

2. Annual performance evaluation at work resulted in a triple promotion (officer level, job title, and pay grade). Sweet!

3. Wasn't exactly what we asked for, but after six months of working with local government, we received final approval on our project to have 31 cycling awareness signs installed on the roads in the northeast quadrant of the parish (our equivalent of "county").

STR

All in all, not a bad week.

Awesome news on many levels, Bear!

I celebrated a birthday and had several fantastic runs.

My oldest is home from college for spring break with her boyfriend.

My youngest's show choir just swept their division in a competition and is headed to finals--as is the mixed choir from her school.

Got to celebrate our oldest son's 26th birthday with him.

Ran my longest tral race to date (13.4 miles) and finished it with a respectable time for me.

Hubby kept his promise this week.

Ran my first mile on the treadmill since being diagnosed with posterior tibial tendonitis in January and dealing with a boot, crutches, and PT. It wasn't far, and it wasn't fast...but the leg is getting better. :-)

I have a loving wife and daughter at home waiting for me to return in 60 days. I've been gone for 311......

TriSports.com has sponsored me by donating an Orca Sonar full wetsuit in my efforts to raise money for my fallen friends...

I can still transition from horizontal to vertical on my own, even though I am 90% disabled

GOD, is still part of my life

and....

You only get out of life, what you put into it..... Smile and celebrate, it's another day!

I've been reading drafts of my students' writing tonight and OMG these kids can write. Not going to pretend that I taught them everything, but they are amazing--imagination, keen ear for dialogue, and a depth of emotion and wisdom that surprises me. The spelling and grammar tells me it's definitely their own work--they could use an editor but that can be easily taught--imagination and the courage to think deeply and write honestly about sometimes painful stuff cannot. And these are fifth graders!

Some good days and some bad days this week, but as this is the good things thread, I'm only going to write those!

 - Got my Green Card in the mail - and it's actually green!

 - Had no problems with applying for the all important SSN card, which I should be getting in the mail next week

 - I'm looking into going back to school which will hopefully happen in April if everything works out

 - my brother's MIL has rallied (she has terminal brain cancer) to the point where my brother & his family can get away for a much needed vacation.

Hmmm...

-DH found out he has some good news headed his way at work.

-We took our first family trip to the snow...could hardly get the kids, 5 and 2, to pack up for home.

-My son finally found the patience to learn to tie his shoes.

Sometimes it's the little things
