Subject: RE: 'splain this to me pleaseride_like_u_stole_it - 2007-08-01 8:11 AM I drive to work at 7:30 a.m. along with a whole bunch of other people. I always see some doofus driving badly talking on a cell phone. What the Hell does anyone have to talk about at 7:30 a.m.?? They obviously just left home, and will be at work in a few minutes....... Way way way back in the day when I drove to SF everyday for work, I'd check my voicemail and handle "fires" before I got into the office. Since most of the people I work with are in NY, I could get a lot done in the hour and a half while I was stuck in the car. But I never drove badly because of the cell phone. Well, it's hard to drive badly in stopped traffic. I don't do that anymore. Now I take the bus and get to work at 7 am, and deal with stuff in the office. No cell phone talking allowed on the bus. Maybe they're talking with family/friends. My commute home used to be the time that I'd call my family or friends and catch up. I know a couple of people who have a regular phone date with their moms in the morning. |
