Music thread/poll
I have XM in my Ridgeline, so I have quite a selection...but I noticed that I switche (very quickly) when I hear songs by different groups/individuals.   Just don't like listening to them
..
I like maybe two DMB songs and the rest is drivel.    So this is not a I hate deathmetal type thread but certain groups in a genre.... Also like a few Madonna songs ,but 99%  of hers I will switch.

I added Prince as my vote.  Sure, some of his stuff is fine.  But overall, I find his stuff to be way overrated and his singing style too grating.

Lady Gaga and Beyounce.  Everytime I heard that on the radio it makes me want to punch babies.

Def Leppard makes me cringe - I'm sure they're nice guys, but to me they ushered in the "new radio" with their overproduced sound in the 80's. Can't listen to them.

As for Lady Gaga - I loved when Justin Timberlake spoofed her on SNL with "my, my, my...mediocre face."

Adding Pink Floyd.  If its the WALL, maybe a little, but I'll do a quick check of the other preset channels and see if there is anything else.

I don't have any channels set that will play Beyonec or Lady GaGa.

I thought I was the only one to hate Boston with a passion. Yay!!! We need a facebook page - "People who loathe Boston (the band)" - you gotta have the disclaimer for all the Red Sox haters out there (mostly Yankee and Mets fans, BTW - inferioriot complex, you know how it is...)

And whoever is hating on Def Leppard. It's not their fault. The music is/was good. You should be after Clearchannel for ruining radio.

Canadian chiming in: Rush. Ugh. Apparently lots of people think they are awesome. I am not one of them and on Canadian stations we have Canadian content regulations so all the classic rock stations play lots o' Rush :S

Kind of hard to pick some when I'm not even sure what their music is.

Maybe this is best discussed in it's own thread, but I wonder if there is a more polarizing band than Rush. I mean - all music discussios inevitably turn to Rush, at which point fur starts flying. What's the deal?

I added Lady Gaga.  There are alot of different types of music and groups that are probably borderline but I let my girls listen to, however, I won't let them listen to her singing about wanting to get on or play with someones "Disco Stick".

That's so true. I like a lot of music and don't usually get bothered by a band. Heck, I can sing along to Nickleback - embarrassed to admit it but that's how it is. But Rush, I just don't like and I had a roommate who really loved them. He did not like it when I said i really disliked them.  Apparently they are like music prodigies.  dunno. I just don't like them and occassionally even have feelings that rush is all things elitist about music. But the hardcore fans are really protective.

I sat through one of their televised concerts on Palladia or Palladium or something like that. Good songs but bland performance. I have always heard how good they were live but it looked like they were just going through the motions, thought the same thing about Genesis after seeing them on the same channel. AC/DC were outstanding though and believe it or not, Fleetwood Mac were very good. They were very into playing their songs, Buckingham was having a blast.
