I like Lance. I'm a fan of a bunch of them, but if anyone else wins, I won't be amazed like I would if Lance won. But I admit that for me it's also name recognition, since I'm not up on all the other riders, and the fact that he's riding for a cause that's very important to me. |

I always think about something Phil Liggett said about him in a previous TDF. He had pulled Lance to the bottom of the last big mountain climb of the day and blew up. Phil says "Now all he has to do is haul his giant carcass up the mountain." Or something to that effect. That line pops into my head every time I am climbing a big hill. I also always root for Cadel Evans because he was on the Volvo/Cannondale MTB team back when they were at the top and I was a lowly shop rat at a top Cannondale dealer. |
