4 weeks ago, I lost my little brother in a motorcycle accident. I have been very strong until the last couple of days it seems. I would greatly appreciate thoughts/prayers (if you do that). Please lift me up!! Love you all!!

I'm sorry to read about your loss. Don't worry too much about being strong, just feel what you need to feel and you'll get through this in whatever way you need to. And be there for your family too, you need them now just as much as they need you. {{solemn thoughts}}

Here is a scripture verse that always gives me hope in when I am depressed.

"You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness" Psalm 30.11

I will pray that the Lord will be with you and your family and that someday you all will dance again.

Courtney I am so sorry for all that you must be going through.

Frank said it well - you need to let yourself feel what you feel .... strength comes in many forms, and tears is one of them.    The hard days and the ...less hard days ... sending you warm thoughts.

Swim/bike/run ...sometimes the best therapy.

Cortney, my condolences to you and your family.  Losing a loved one is never easy, I can well empathize with you in that.  For the last few weeks you have been strong in order to get through a very trying time but now is the time to allow yourself to grieve for your loss.  It is not easy but it will pass in time.  Think of the good times that you shared with your brother and the love you had for each other; that will help your through this.

Cortney,

I can only imagine how difficult it must be to lose your brother. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

There is a letter in this mornings paper (Ask Amy) Column, that discusses the loss of loved ones, and where to turn. They had a recommendation of a group called the "Compassionate Friends" support group. Their contact information is 877-969-0010, or www.compassionatefriends.org

Hope that this helps in some small way,

Dennis

My thoughts and prayers for you and your family. Grieve as you need to and let yourself feel what you need to from day to day. Be there for your family as they need you as much as you need them in this time of grief. But also remember to take time for yourself - working out is a great way to boost your mood and spirits and help you through your loss.

You will never stop missing him- but try to set goals for yourself and think how proud he would be to see you accomplish them. Right now you have to let yourself be sad and angry ....but later channel that into "up" s......Thoughts are with you..it's so hard to lose one you love.

I am truely sorry for your loss.

When my mother passed away I was the only one in my family that didn't cry...don't know why. I guess I wanted to be the "strong" one or something.

Then BBOOOOMMM, just like you, 4 weeks later sitting with my friends along the river I broke down and balled my eyes out for about 20 minutes....and it felt good.

Keep your head up and deal with your feelings as you see fit.

You will be in our prayers.

Take care of yourself now.

Cort -

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.  Pull on your family and friends (live and virtual) for support - that's what they're there for - and they'd be angry if you didn't, and internalizing it will just postpone the inevitable.

Listen to your heart, grieve when you need to grieve, celebrate his memory when you can, laugh and cry the best you can.  The world loves you and your brother and his energy lives on with you and all the people he touched.

Rick
