Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTCOUgVYG3o About 45 seconds in the newscaster reads the names of the pilots. Warning, you probably don't want any liquids in your mouth when you watch this video. I still can't believe that it made it onto their newscast. |

![]() Ya like how they "were verified by the NTSB" before being broadcast? Makes you wonder what else in supposedly news items are made up either by the news agency or someone feeding the agency. |

Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I can't even comprehend how that made it to the air... the joke sure... how it made to the air, and a person actually read it... I mean Ron Burgundy told San Diego to effoff.... but that was not actually real. |

![]() HOLY (excrement) The NTSB DID confirm those names. Yeah, it was an intern who didn't have the authority but that really doesn't matter, the intern spoke with the voice of the NTSB as far as the station was concerned. |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Saw this Friday night and almost pizzed myself. Politically incorrect/borderline racist? Yes. I actually work with a lot of Asians and most of them found this to be hilarious. I cannot remember which web site I saw it, but in the comments section, someone posted what looked like an official statement, declaring that the Asain Rights League (or something) was looking into the matter and had retained noted civil rights attorney Mi Su Yu as consul. Laughed again. |

Regular ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Well that's some strong work right there. I'm pretty sure when I'm 90 I will still giggle at stuff like this. |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() My son played this the other day on youtube and I thought it was just somebody making a joke which was somewhat funny, but obviously racist and not really appropriate due to the loss of life. Then the next day I saw the story featured on foxnews and I went holy #$@$ that is absolutely hilarious. Not that the joke was that funny, but that the news station was too stupid to realize it was a joke. To me, that's where the real humor in this story lies. |

Head Oh I think that was what got me. If I would have seen it in print I would have been mildly amused, but the fact that they went on the air with this just raises the level of stupidity. Even though it was "confirmed" by the NTSB, you would think someone would have a brain and realize this was a joke. I have not been doing any follow-up searching. Is the news station in hot water? |

Somehow, I think that intern isn't getting credit for this summer.... Due to highly offensive nature of the names and the injustice made to the pilots involved in the flight, says the statement, both the reputation and the dignity of the airlines were said to be violated. Uhhh... no. Slamming a plane into the runway due to improperly allowing it to fall out of the sky ruined your rep and that of the pilots.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Whether you think the original joke was funny or not (I do) - the threaten to sue because the joke damaged the reputation of a pilot who can't land a plane properly is hilarious. Such a shame people died in this incident as it's stoppnig me from finding it all as amusing as I might do otherwise. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I wonder if them suing is just a plan to take focus off the crash. It would be amazing if they released the names as a diversionary tactic to give people something else to talk about. |

Somehow, I think that intern isn't getting credit for this summer.... Should make it a class action and anyone who's Asian and was offended get's a settlement. Tony only get's half of what everyone else gets. |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Had to be over 15 years ago, but I remember one of the radio stations in Detroit got in a mild amount of trouble when they asked listeners to do some pranks and one of the results was an article in a local paper about a guy named Phil McCracken hitting a hole in one that was witnessed by his friend, Craven Moorehead. |

Wendy - "Is Mike Hunt here? Has anyone seen Mike Hunt?" Meat - "Everyone in town from what I hear" Porky's - 1982 I tried that one in high school. I wrote the name at the bottom of the class list for a substitute teacher and she called it out when she took roll. Nearly got suspended for that, but the guidance counselor (who I was friendly with) said that when it was brought up during the discipline commitee meeting (all boys private school) everyone was laughing so hard that they couldn't, in good conscience, suspend me. So I got a bunch of detentions instead. I think the airline pilot's name prank is yet another example of how our news cycle has gotten so competitve that getting on air with something ahead of the competition trumps everying else, even fact checking and common sense. It was worth two demerits to read off a happy birthday from one to the other. |
