Master  1903    Portland, Oregon |  Subject: Today on my ride, I sawToday on my ride, I saw a prostitute. Well, I'm pretty sure she was. I didn't offer her any money or anything. My neighborhood is adjacent to, shall we say, a 'questionable' area of town. We ride alongside the transit center on our way to our favorite riding route. Right next to the bike path, there was this chick in a skin tight black scrunchy dress and black 5" platform stilletto high heels buying a bus ticket. I did a double-take and almost wrecked because as she leaned forward toward the ticket machine, there were double a$$ cheeks peeking out from under her mini 'dress'. They did not appear to be covered in any way! At least she was fairly skinny. 300 lb cheeks hangin' out coulda scarred me for life. What have you seen lately? |

Sickly skinny, short skirts, heels, sometimes sticking their hips and legs out. They all look like addicts (I guess most are, but these look to be towards the end of the addiction continuum). I always hope the outreach programs reach them, but I suspect they have no interest in being helped. |

Master 2504 Southwest Iowa | Subject: RE: Today on my ride, I saw skunk, raccoon, deer, red fox, red winged black bird, cardinals, wasps, yellow jackets, flies, roofing nails, 4 x 4's up to 12' long, shoes of every kind, parts off of planters, disks, combine heads, etc.......... If you can't tell I live in a very rural area. Women in short skirts are not a normal site. SOmetimes we pass tractors and combines and sometimes they pass us, just depends upon the farmer and what they are trying to do. |

Expert 1830 | Subject: RE: Today on my ride, I saw Over the last month I have seen: On a ride, I had to stop and move a large (20+ lb) snapping turtle out of the bike lane. He was larger in diameter than a steering wheel, and was not at all happy about being moved. On an early morning run, had to stop and let an armadillo cross in front of me. He was about 3-4 feet in front, and crossing my path. He was trotting along with no care in the world. I don't even know if he saw us. On a drive to work the other morning, in broad daylight, I saw a possum standing on a busy street corner in Houston, watching each car go by. He would literally look at the car, and follow it with his head as it passed him. I was across the street, so I got to watch this for awhile. Very odd behavior for a possum. |

I never realized how fast they are, GPS said I was going 22mph (false flat in my favor) and he looked like he was trotting. He never looked back just out for his morning jog or whatever then crused off into the woods when he was done. |

Then yesterday a lady told me she saw a mtn lion at the same park a couple weeks back, but I'm guessing she saw the same bobcat that I did. On a ride, I saw a couple of donkeys doing it.
