I was just curious if people had a favorite brand of shoe.  I know I stick to my Brooks and haven't liked any other brand since.

Edit- I hit enter before I got all the choices in there so please add your own!

Brooks Adrinaline GT5.  They solved my over-pronation issue and ITB syndrom.

I have been using the Asics since the 2040s....now I am using the 2100s and waiting for the new ones.  And I ususually go thru at least 2-3 pairs a year.

Asics 2100's baby!  Oh my gosh Lane- are you stalking me?  Why do you wear the same shoe as me??

I alternate between the Asics (2XXX series, like Lane) and Brooks (usually the Adrenaline, like Michael, though I am currently using and liking the Beast). So I voted for both.

I'm currently in Nike Shox 2:40s. I love Asics Gel Nimbus, but since I've lost a bunch of weight there's a little too much cushion for me.

Asics!  2100's and Kayano's.  Been wearing them since I started running cross country in high school.  They fit my feet perfectly and I can count all the blisters they've given me in that time on one hand.

Aaron- have your Asics ever blistered you on your arches at all?  Just curious.  If I get blisters from  mine that's where I get them.

I voted for Nike, then looked at my shoes and realized they're asics. What can I say, I love both brands. And I had the best pair of Adidas running shoes back in the 90s, but they don't make them anymore

I wear the 2100's and love them.

Janelle- I used mine in my half in August - I had not had the chance to break them in well, and they did leave me with big blisters on both arches. I blamed it on them being so new, plus they got wet during the run (it was very hot so we were getting water dumped on us, using ice water sponges, and people were spraying us with hoses). I haven't had a problem since then.

Is there a big difference bween the asics 2100's and the kayano's? I'm 5'10", 190 lbs and have been wearing the kayano's but I'm wondering if i can use the $50 elsewhere.
thnx

I've actually tried the kayano's before and they were too much for me.  I mean, they were defintely heavier and more stable than the 2100's.  Without looking at the description, I would say that they're probably a stablity with some motion control?  Or made for larger built runners?  Not sure.  I'd have to check.  I'm only telling you by how they felt on my feet so I could be wrong.  I personally didn't like them and went back to the 2100's so I could stalk be like Lane!

Thnx Janelle. I'm kinda thinking I'm a tweener now. I was about 215 (large frame?) but at a shrinking 190 wonder if I'm getting to that medium frame.

Thing is I've had leg issues in the past and none w/ the Kayano's. Like most I'm relctutant to change.

I would stick with the shoe that works best for you.  Finding the right shoe can be a frustrating process- it's like a science.  When you find one that works, keep it.  You can on roadrunnersports.com and compare shoe types and see the differences.  That might help, since I'm no expert.

One more thing about the kayanos.  They made my feet really hot- maybe because of the extra cushioning?  But compared to the 2100's, my feet were always hot in them!

I have Asics Kayanos (which I love) and some Mizunos. Both of my shoes are out of milage so I am going in a few weeks to get re fitted. Not sure what I will get then...

I've tried the Kayano's, but they didn't do anything for me that the 2100s couldn't do so I save the $50+. I'm even considering trying the 1100s ($75 list) that god a good review as a stability shoe in the last issue of Runner's World.

I bought a pair of Asics Kayanos off the sale rack.  They are fine but I don't think the sole wears as well as the Nike Air Structure Triax that I have been wearing for few years.  I would buy either on sale.

I change shoes when the sole wears through to the cushion layer.  I land on the outer edge of the sole so that spot goes through pretty fast while the rest of the sole is intact.  I bought the Asics on May 31 and they are shot now so 6 months which is maybe 500 miles for me.

Alternate between Brooks Axiom and Brooks Adrenaline. I'm a toe-striker so I like the Adrenaline more for the longer runs as it has better cushioning up front. I used to be an Asics kinda guy, but once I tried the Brooks I was in love.
